If you’re a fan of Universal Studios Florida, we have big news for you, because what we’ve been waiting for is finally happening!

Islands of Adventure
Construction is finally beginning on Poseidon’s Fury at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and it looks like they are going to officially start removing pieces.
It’s already been nearly three years since the popular walk-through attraction, Poseidon’s Fury, permanently closed. The experience would take guests to many rooms in a tour through the sunken Temple of Poseidon. What starts off as a tour quickly turns into something more!

Poseidon’s Fury
It was a fun and popular spot, but it was never really considered an absolute must-do at the park, at least not for us. Despite closing years ago, Universal has never started working on it (that we could see), until now.

Poseidon’s Fury construction
There are officially construction walls up around the outside of Poseidon’s Fury. It looks like Universal is going to start by taking down the exterior of the attraction.

Walls are up!
Universal hasn’t specifically stated the work that they’re doing or the specific timeline. We’re assuming it’s going to take them a while to get rid of all the big set pieces like Poseidon’s Trident and the ruins.

Construction has finally begun!
Universal will eventually remove all of the Lost Continent to make room for an unknown future project. Currently, all that’s left of the Lost Continent is a few shops, quick service dining, and the Mythos Restaurant (one of our absolute favorites).

Mythos Restaurant
We’re not sure what’s going to be replacing the land. There are rumors on the internet, but nothing has been confirmed or announced by Universal. We’re excited to see what it will be once the time comes. Now that construction has begun, there’s a chance Universal could say something sooner than we think. We’ll keep an eye out for any news that drops, so make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog.
