There are a few big things we’d tell you to put on your must-do list in Disney World, and among them is a very popular nighttime show.
Fantasmic is a half-hour nighttime spectacular in Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you actually get to sit down (hallelujah — that’s rare for Disney World nighttime shows!) and watch a show full of Disney magic, fan-favorite characters, water effects, projections, and pyrotechnics. Seriously, it’s a highlight of any Disney trip! And if you’re hoping to see it on your upcoming vacation, you need to know that the showtimes are changing.
For the next few Fridays and Saturdays through May 9th, Fantasmic will be showing not once, but TWICE a night! This is a great opportunity to see the show with lower crowds, as the second performance on those nights will be much less busy.
For those shows, there will be performances at 9PM and 10:30PM, meaning that the second performance will actually begin after the park closes — you won’t have to miss out on any park time to watch it! For either show, we typically recommend arriving 30+ minutes before the show starts so that you can get a seat. On nights when there’s only one show or the park is particularly busy, the theater can fill up.
Another important Fantasmic change to note is that from June 14th through the end of the current calendar (which is June 20th), there will be one performance a night starting at 9:05PM. This is a somewhat unusual showtime for Fantasmic, since it typically starts on the hour or half-hour. It probably won’t affect things too much, but just add that extra five minutes into your schedule if you’re visiting then.
There are a lot of reasons to be visiting Hollywood Studios this summer, so it’s possible that we could see more dual-performance nights in the near future. We’ll keep you updated! With Cool Kids’ Summer, the revamp of Animation Courtyard into Walt Disney Studios, and the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets set to open, this park is going to be POPULAR.
