Disney World is known for being fun for guests of all ages. There are slow rides with no height restrictions for the younger ones, fast and action-packed rides for the thrill seekers, and shows for the guests who just want to relax.
But let’s all be honest — there are some rides where age plays a factor in whether or not you’ll be enjoying the attraction. What we once loved to ride as kids may not be as much fun in our 30s. With that being said, there may be some rides that we tend to avoid now that we’re older.
When you get to being in your 30s and 40s, your body doesn’t work like it used to when you were in your teenage years. So that time you rode Expedition Everest 10 times in a row when you were 14 and waiting in 2-hour-long lines doesn’t really sound appealing anymore, does it? Here are five rides in Magic Kingdom that millennials tend to avoid:
Space Mountain
When people ask, “What’s the roughest ride in Magic Kingdom?” what tends to be most people’s answer is Space Mountain. This indoor steel coaster is packed with jerks, bumps, turns, and whiplash. The ride still operates on its 1975 track design, so it’s a lot less smooth and a lot more jolting than other coasters in the park.
If you’re looking for a free chiropractic appointment or to be in pain for the rest of the day, this is the ride for you! But if you want to enjoy the rest of your vacation and relax, we suggest sitting this one out!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
One thing that might be worse than riding a bumpy attraction that’ll give you whiplash is riding an attraction that’ll get you wet. And when I say wet, I mean sometimes you’ll get absolutely drenched to the point where it looks like you decided to take a swim in the fountain at Gaston’s Tavern.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a millennial’s worst nightmare — the chance to get drenched not once, not twice, but a whopping five times throughout the ride. And if you’re placed in the front row, you might as well kiss those dry clothes goodbye because you’ll be wet for the rest of the day!
One of our team members hasn’t even ridden Tiana’s Bayou Adventure yet because that’s just how much she dreads being soaked! But if it’s a hot day and you don’t want to head back to your resort and hop in the pool, I guess this is an alternative to cool off.

TRON Lightcycle / Run
If you didn’t think it could get worse, it just did. Because not only is this attraction whippy, but it also has extremely long lines. And those lines are in the sun…I guess we might need to head back to Frontierland for a little cool-off after all.
TRON Lightcycle / Run tends to consistently have one of the longest waits in the park, alongside Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight. And waiting outside in the Florida heat, especially in the summer, for a ride that lasts nearly 60 seconds just isn’t worth it for some people.

Here Are Some Alternative Rides!
If you’re looking for smoother coasters or rides with shorter lines, here are some we suggest!
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Although this may have long lines, it is a much smoother coaster than Space Mountain and still gets you that thrill!
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: This attraction recently reopened after a lengthy refurbishment, so you may see long lines in the near future, but the refurbishment also brought a new and smoother track!
- Pirates of the Caribbean: An indoor queue. A low wait. Less of a splash. All things millennials love!
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: This relaxing ride around Tomorrowland will keep you cool and entertained!
- Jungle Cruise: Craving some dad jokes and a ride along the water? Jungle Cruise has got you covered!
