I know it’s hard to believe, with so many truly delicious bread puddings available at Walt Disney World Resort (‘Ohana Bread Pudding at Polynesian Village Resort, Butterscotch Bread Pudding at Plaza Restaurant, Ger’s Bread Pudding at Raglan Road — to name a few crowd pleasers!), but we totally have a new favorite! You can find it at House of Blues in Disney Springs’ West Side!
Get it! Gaston’s Tavern Now Gives a Cup of Icing for Guests Who Want All the Good Stuff!
You already know that Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is, well, magical. From sunrise to sunset and beyond, it’s beautiful from almost any angle.
And now our icing wishes have come true (naturally!) at Gaston’s Tavern.
Review: Beauty and the Beast Belle Cupcake in Disney Parks
Cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes. These are three of our favorite words. The only thing that can improve on the word cupcake is to put the word character in front of it. We’ve touted our love of character-inspired cupcakes many, many, so many times. Darth Vader? Check! Lady and the Tramp and Cinderella? Check and check! Elsa? Anna’s Birthay? Olaf? It’s serious bizzness.
So when I saw this little piece of loveliness at the Magic Kingdom Confectionery last week, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. (Like, for real, I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I finally got one.) And there’s no way you can fight the urge this time. So just give in. Say it with us: “We’ll take a Belle Cupcake, please.”
It’s a Belle-Inspired Cupcake, and it. is. everything. Rose? Yellow frosting? PEARLS?!?!?
Review: Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! — Plus ALL THE FOOD — at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Happy Happy Holidays, Everyone!
If we weren’t quite feeling the Holiday Spirit yet, that all changed the other night as we took in the very first performance of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
I know, I know. We all dearly miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights just as much as you do. Let’s take a moment to reflect. (Somber music playing. Or something.)
Ok — is it out of our system? I hope so. Because we have some pretty cool stuff to share with you, starting with a look at some of the awesome decor you can spy around Studios. Let’s head in! [Read more…]
Review: Frosting Shots (And a Cookie Hack!) from Sprinkles in Disney Springs
There is so much to love about Sprinkles. The Cupcakes. The Ice Cream. The Cookies. The outrageous combos thereof.
But you just knew that sooner or later, we were gonna talk Frosting Shots. And today’s the day!
Remember a couple of weeks back when I went all Sprinkles Crazy on you?
There were the killer Seasonal Cupcakes. And of course, that outrageous Ice-Cream-Cookie-Brownie-Sammie that I’m still dreaming about. (And now, so are you.)
But I also took the opportunity to get a couple of my favorite Sprinkles menu items — Frosting Shots — while I was at it.
You see, I loooooooovvvvvve Frosting. If you’ve been reading DFB for any amount of time, then you already know this. So a treat that’s nothing but the good stuff? Sign me up.
I discovered Sprinkles’ frosting shots at my local Sprinkles location here in Dallas, TX, years and years ago. So when I saw that the Disney Springs store had them, I couldn’t help myself. [Read more…]
Dining in Disneyland: Old West Cinnamon Rolls in Downtown Disney
Cruising Downtown Disney, heading back to our car to go home, a cart that I had never seen before caught my eye. Old West Cinnamon Rolls? Hello!
According to my 12 year old son, I stopped in my tracks “to get the breaking news.” Yes, he was making fun of me; and he did a whole running commentary while I stopped to get the scoop on this new-ish spot in Downtown Disney. After that nonsense, which was actually quite hilarious, he’s lucky that I still shared my cinnamon roll with him!
Atmosphere
Located right next to the Pin Traders store, Old West Cinnamon Rolls has apparently been there for about 6 or so weeks. I obviously don’t cruise Downtown Disney enough to let this place exist for so long without knowing about it. Going to have to change that I guess, because the cinnamon rolls here are amazing.
The plastic cinnamon roll display (which reminded me of the gelato stand nearby) gives you inspiration to choose the cinnamon roll that’s right for you!
After quizzing the poor guy working at the stand I learned that the cinnamon rolls are a “design your own” situation. The menu consists of a base price of $4.75 for a plain cinnamon roll (and by plain they mean NO frosting). Additional toppings are $1.00, so you can build the designer cinnamon roll of your dreams. Toppings include [Read more…]
