How excited was I to find a Flo’s V8 Cafe on the Disney Dream?! VERY! I thought — is this gonna be anything like the Flo’s V8 Cafe slated to open in Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land in 2012?
Atmosphere
After getting a look at the counter-service location on the ship, my guess is no — it won’t approximate the full-sized location in Cars Land, but it’s a fun preview on what the themeing might be like! (Click on the menus below for larger images.) You can also find the full menu here: Flo’s V8 Cafe Menu.
I also really liked that the counter-service location was broken into different sections — supposedly “owned” by Cars characters — and situated on a “street!” Check out the dotted yellow line!
Eats
Flo’s serves quick-service fare like sandwiches, pizza, salads, and grill items, and is set up like a food court. Simply approach any window and order what you’d like to eat from the menu listed next to it. Many items are sitting in display cases so that you can see what you’re choosing. Here are a few of the menu items I tried:
The Brie, Bacon, and Tomato panini was quite tasty! Not too fussy — just savory and crispy.
The chicken fingers are always delicious. I’m sorry. I love them.
The grilled chicken was actually pretty good — tender, juicy, and actually had taste!
The pizza was sampled by Sarah Holodick during her Disney Dream cruise; she had this review: I tried a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni. They were subpar Disney pizza. The crust is very bland. The pepperoni pie had just come out of the oven, but it wasn’t enough to save it.
Here are some pics of a few more of the items available at Flo’s…
Of course, there are plenty of condiments and make-your-own-salad fixin’s as well…

Just a reminder — I was invited by Disney on this Christening Cruise, and my expenses were paid by the company. I am under no obligation to review or discuss the event, and all opinions are 100% my own.

What a cute theme idea. I can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for California Adventure! And, I love chicken fingers, too 😉

I love the theme!

I really like the theme as well, and how they had a food item associated with each character from Cars.
There really are some health choices as well, and it looks promising.

Heather — I think we all love chicken fingers, we’re just afraid to say it out loud ’cause of the haters. 😉
Kelly — I know! Isn’t it great? Those menus are 3D, too!
Josh — Yep — good healthy choices here!

We are going later this year and I can’t wait to try a Mater Burger!
