Every time I visit Disneyland, I take a peek inside the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street to see if there is anything new and exciting. When I saw this cute little number with a cherry on top, I decided that my arm would not need to be twisted to try it. I mean Cherry Granola. That sounds healthy right? Granola? Isn’t that good for you!?!
In honor of Valentine’s Day, Disneyland has created this tasty little treat that won’t be around long. This seasonal muffin looks a little like a cupcake, but it’s not at all as sweet.
After purchasing one, my friend and I went over to my favorite little “stoop” a few doors down from the Blue Ribbon Bakery and took a seat on the stairs that are tucked in the walls just outside of the Main Street Emporium (also a great place to sit for a parade if you can get to it first).
We sat down, cut our muffin in half, and then gave it a taste test. My first reaction was that I noticed it wasn’t overly sweet. It had sort of a cherry almond flavor that tasted natural. The texture was smooth and the dollop of frosting on top was the perfect little indulgence to make the muffin treat-like.
There was one bite that had a bit too much maraschino cherry in it for me. But other than that the cherry flavor was not too overpowering.
All in all, I thought the muffin was very tasty. Although not low in calories, it is a bit more healthy than a cupcake… Definitely worth a try!

I always check out the Blue Ribbon Bakery too! I’m a sucker for granola, so I’d be all over that 🙂

Me too! I like things that appear healthy, but include cream cheese frosting.

Agreed, I mean granola is healthy, right?

Granola is totally healthy! I do wish they’d introduce things like this and the pumpkin muffin you had in the Fall to WDW…

Have to admit, I eyeballed the frosting too. It looks good – sometimes muffins can be so dry.

I would love to see Epcot do some ethnic cupcakes like cherry with ground almond or pistachio “flour” cupcakes for the Middle East.
