The internet is buzzing with a new rumor that a VERY significant change might be in the works for the 2018 Disney Dining Plan. Will alcoholic beverages be included with Dining Plan meal credits?
According to the British Disney fan site, The Dibb, “Guests will now [Editor’s Note: as of January 1, 2018] be able to enjoy a choice of either one speciality non-alcoholic or alcoholic* (over 21s only) beverage to accompany each meal.”
If this is correct, those who do not imbibe — due either to age or preference — would be eligible to receive a single serving specialty drink such as an Artisanal Milkshake, Fresh Smoothie, Premium Hot Chocolate, or Soda, Coffee, or Tea. (Presumably, sodas would still receive refills as always, though the post did not state that specifically.)
The single service alcoholic beverages may include drinks such as Beer or Hard Cider, Wine or Sangria, or Mixed Drinks such as a Specialty Cocktail.
Also according to The Dibb, ordering specialty drinks would be an option, where applicable, at Quick Service locations as well as Table Service. However, it is not stated as to whether the specialty drinks would be part of the Quick Service Plan. According to Inquisitr.com (who also cite The Dibb as their primary source), “it is expected to be added to the Plus (Base) and Deluxe Disney Dining Plans.”
It is important to note: the cited source starts its thread with the words, “Disney have announced today that the 2018 Dining Plans are being enhanced to include several more beverage options.” There is no official announcement at this time by Disney.

I’m hoping it’s true. I enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, so this could potentially save a few dollars.
How about an Appetizer
!!!!!!!!!!’
Instead of dessert as an option now that would be awesome
Probably a justification for another price hike on the DDP.
I’m hoping that this option will be available for all levels of the Dining Plan!!!! I love this idea!!
Will Vegan beverages be included?
A big change, but why get excited? Disney isn’t going to start giving away alcoholic beverages! If they’re adding alcoholic drinks to the dining packages I would expect a correspondingly appropriate price hike.
I can only imagine what this will do to the price of the plan. I hope it is an optional add-on so I can skip it.
I know this question is off topic but I could use some clarification on counter service pizza prices. If I’m on the basic dining plan will I be able to purchase an entire pizza, from Boardwalk Pizza window with just one counter service credit? How about other counter service restaurants in Walt Disney World? Thank you for any help. And again I apologise for being off topic.
All the Best – Deb
A whole pizza is two quick service credits at Boardwalk but it includes two drinks and two desserts so, it’s a pretty good deal. As far as I know, all whole pizzas on property are two credits.
