You’ve seen him. You’ve already fallen in love with him. You MAY have already tried but failed to find him (because he’s selling’ out, y’all)…
Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket
It’s the Glow-in-the-Dark Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket, and he’s taking Disneyland at Halloween Time by storm! AND you may be able to find him floating around Disney World, too, where he’s exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party.
Still, Ooogie Boogie is not the only creepy collectible at Disney Parks this fall. We’ve already spotted several in Disneyland, and there’s more on the way coming to both Disneyland AND Walt Disney World! Different pieces will start arriving throughout September AND October, so you’ll have to keep your eyes — and social media feeds 😉 — peeled!
Hitchhiking Ghosts Tiki Mug
Let’s start with the Hitchhiking Ghosts Tiki Mug… you may recall this uber-popular-causing-lines-for-DAYYZZZ collectible from Halloween 2016. It was available (in a different color for each coast) at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in Disneyland, and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in Disney World.
And the ghosts will be materializing again! Disney has confirmed that a 2nd edition is on the way once more to the Trader Sam’s locations on both the west and east coast!
MORE Popcorn Buckets
We’ve already spied the super adorable Mickey Pumpkin Popcorn Bucket in Disneyland, along with Oogie Boogie.
But did you know that the Headless Horseman will be appearing with Oogie Boogie on another Popcorn Bucket coming to Disney California Adventure, too??? A Trick-or-Treat-themed Popcorn Bucket will make its way to both Disneyland and Disney World parks as well.
Cups, Cubes, and More
Speaking of the Headless Horseman (a personal favorite of mine), he’ll come galloping into Disney California Adventure on a Glow Straw/Clip!
He’ll be in Disneyland park, too, but only at Mickey’s Halloween Party. You’ll also find a Mickey Pumpkin Glow Bottle Topper in Disneyland park.
The Poison Apple Stein has been a hit on both coasts for a couple of years now.
This year, you’ll find the ghoulish stein throughout Disneyland Resort at both parks and each hotel. And the Poison Apple Glow Cubes will return to Disneyland, too!
The red glow cube will be available at both parks and each hotel, but you’ll have to visit Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge to get your hands on the exclusive GREEN Poison Apple Glow Cube.
And, of course, new this year for Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land is the Traffic Cone Sipper, complete with Halloween stickers!
Find them at Cozy Cone Motel, along with a Tire Pumpkin Glow Straw.
So, much like the Headless Horseman himself, it’s time to get yourself ready for the hunt. Which souvenir Halloween collectible tops YOUR list?

Do you have any info on when the HM tiki mug will be available?? I missed out last year and I really want one of those!!
Essie says
I may be the only one, but I don’t like the Nightmare Before Christmas characters or movie!!!!! We saw it and neither one of us liked it. At all! I do like anything that’s HM, Headless Horseman or poison apple though! I’d line up for them anytime!
AJ says
Christy — Not yet 🙁

What I the best way to get a glow cube without having to go to the parks? I love the red but would prefer the green. Is there a site I can shop from? Tia!
Raymond says
AJ, do you know of any companies that will shop/pickup merchandise for people who can’t make it to the WDW parks or resorts?
AJ says
Raymond — For sure. There are several companies that do this, but I can’t personally vouch for any of them. Google “disney personal shopper” and you should find several. Good luck! Also, don’t forget the shop disney parks app that’s run by Disney.

Any chance Oogie Boogie will stay for Christmas?

Have you heard any update on the release date for the Hitchhiking Ghost mugs? Thanks!
DFB Sarah says
Matt, we haven’t heard any updates regarding a release date for the mugs. Sorry!
Tim says
I was at Trader Sam’s today at Disneyland Hotel and the tiki mugs are not available yet here. According to the bartender they will be announcing availability on the Disneyland blog 3 days prior to them going on sale.

I love the oogie boogie popcorn bucket! I think it was misleading when I bought it. I went today and the staff refused to refill it saying it’s not a refillable bucket. Any one else have this happen?
Lisa says
Amie, you are lucky that you were able to get the Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket. I went to MNSSHP on October 13 and was told they sold out at the party the night before and didn’t get the shipment for my party. But guest relations told me that they would send me an email letting me know how to get one. HA! I have never received an email, emailed twice with no response and now there is a post on the Disney Parks Blog that they are all sold out as of 10/16. Now I guess it is eBay if I want one, which is a bummer since it is a big reason I went to the party in the first place.
I got the Mickey pumpkin bucket and was able to refill that one in the parks. We were also lucky to be staying at the Polynesian on October 13 when the Hitchhiking Ghost mug came out and waited in line to get one.

I think I would be happy just getting the oogie boogie bucket. I am not sure I would be complaining about refills as its not even an issue as we rarely finish the popcorn we get.
