We’re back with What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, and it includes several menu changes, tons of cool merchandise, and a peek at current Toy Story Land and Skyliner construction (read more about the Disney World Skyliner here!)! Then, we’re skipping over to Art of Animation and Pop Century for a quick look at What’s New at the resorts! So put on your fancy pants, and let’s get our glamour on!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Menu Updates and Eats
has added a Vegan Burger on vegan-friendly brioche with vegan mayo ketchup, sriracha mustard, grilled onions and peppers, lettuce, and tomatoes.
At BaseLine Tap House, the Exotic Margarita has replaced the Negroni.
The menu at Mama Melrose’s has replaced the Rosemary Chicken Flatbread with an Arugula Prosciutto Flatbread.
At Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant there’s a new Shrimp and Crab Fondue, Crispy Chicken Tenders (with a new Szechuan Sauce), Vegan Tofu Lettuce Wraps, Buffalo Chicken Salad, Smoked Prime Rib Sandwich, and Sci-Fi Barbecue Burger.
Gone from the menu are Spinach Dip, Boneless Chicken Wings, St. Louis Ribs, Caprese Sandwich, Reuben Sandwich, and Salmon Fajita Salad.
A couple of other menu changes include the NY Strip, which now comes with asparagus, roasted potatoes, and bacon vinaigrette, and the Shrimp or Chicken Pasta Dish is now Seared rather than Blackened.
At Trolley Car Cafe (home of the new Carrot Cake Cookie!), guests can celebrate the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story with a cupcake!
We’ll have a full review coming soon, but this cookies-and-cream cupcake is a chocolate lovers dream!
Trolley Car cookies have a new look. They’re thicker and appear to be made in a formed pan (similar in shape to that new Carrot Cake Cookie).
And just for fun: Gertie’s Soft Serve Cup!
Hollywood and Vine is now Minnie’s Springtime Dine. (Guests experience a variety of celebrations at Hollywood and Vine depending on the season, including Minnie’s Holiday Dine. And don’t forget Goofy’s now in attendance here!)
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Merchandise
Merchandise is hitting just about every character theme, starting with these Toy Story Aliens Socks!
Fans of Stitch will be thrilled with several new items.
For Solo inclined, this Wookie tee.
And what about this Captain of the Millennium Falcon skirt and shirt combo? So cool!
Duo tees are in, with Princess Leia and Han Solo getting some love.
Mickey and Minnie duo tees are available, too!
We love this cheerful Orange Bird Tank!
There’s also an Orange Bird Antenna Topper!
In the world of ears, Miss Piggy makes an appearance!
Complete with her classic attitude!
Ariel also has a beautiful set of ears with lots of mermaid detail!
It’s My Birthday Mickey ears are super festive!
If you prefer ball caps, get your Groot on!
And for a mug with character, check out this Solo-inspired hexagonal mug!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Construction
Construction continues in earnest in Toy Story Land! We can not wait to see this land in its unveiled entirety come June 30!
And Skyliner construction continues as well, with massive cranes a now-constant presence beyond the construction walls. (Read more about the Disney World Skyliner here!)
In smaller construction news, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant car photo op is missing for a refurbishment.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Moment of Zen
And because we can all use it: your Disney’s Hollywood Studios Moment of Zen.
Pop Century Resort
Over at Pop Century we’ve discovered a few new things. Nothing new at the pool, but let’s jump in!
Everything Pop has added Vegetable Soup and Potato Soup to the menu.
They’ve also now got Joffrey’s Cold Brew, just in time for the heat of summer!
Macaroni and Cheese has been added as a side option.
Everything Pop has also added more single-serve alcohol options for those on the Disney Dining Plan or those looking to add a little pep to their step.
And for those who add pep to their step with cupcakes instead, there are two new options! The first is a Millennial Pink Headband Cupcake.
This is a pretty little thing! (Disney’s definitely on the Millennial Pink trend. You?)
There’s also a festive Watermelon Cupcake!
Art of Animation Resort
Over at Art of Animation Resort, we see some of the same changes as Pop Century, but first: cool off at the Drop Off Pool!
The Drop Off Pool Bar has acquired a Frozen Rum and Coke Machine.
More of the same in the world of single-serve alcohol beverages at Landscape of Flavors, too.
Those beverages now include Sofia Brut Rosé by the can.
And the Millennial Pink Headband Cupcake has arrived in the pastry case at Landscape of Flavors as well. We reviewed it for you last month!
And we’re swooning over this super-cute Rose Cupcake! Love the detail of the two-toned modeling chocolate rose on top.

I love these What’s New Reports! I also love everything in them, the food, merchandise, and the park and resort updates. Thanks for being some Disney into my home!
Julie Gray says
Noooooo! I can’t believe that Sci-Fi eliminated their awesome Reuben sandwich from the menu!! That was my all time favorite Reuben sandwich anywhere I’ve ever been! We have reservations on our big vacation this
Month and I was sooooo looking forward to that sandwich. Booo!
Shelly says
We just got back from Pop a couple weeks ago and I missed a lot of this but I did get to try that vegetable soup (alongside a very hearty and delicious quiche). It was so good! Reminded me very much of the vegetable soup my grandmother makes.
Anthony says
I love these reports as well and I’m slowly working my way through the over 500 pages of blog archives. I love this site, but it makes me hungry! Still, it helps me stay sane until my next Disney trip.
Susan says
Disney has Seagrams!?!? That’s one of the things I miss living overseas and last time I was home, I looked EVERYWHERE for Seagrams and couldn’t find it! Is this something that I will be able to find throughout the park, or only at the one resort? And do they have more flavors of it? Thank you for being my eyes and ears at Disney for great treats!
DFB Sarah says
Shelly — I’m with you. That soup is good!
DFB Sarah says
Bummer, Julie! Keep an eye on the menu just in case it makes its way back. It happens sometimes!
Sara says
I hope they dump the BBQ platter and bring back just the ribs when I’m there in September. I don’t want all of that food. I also don’t want to pay $5 more than I would have last year. I didn’t get to go to Sci-Fi on my September trip last year because Irma decided to take a Jungle Cruise.
DSparkletoes says
As this is an old post, I’m curious – has anyone seen the Miss Piggy ears recently? We’re going in a month and I would love a pair for Not So Scary. We failed to buy them when we were there last fall 🙁
DFB Sarah says
DSparkleToes: Yes! Our on-site reporter saw them TODAY! We’ve spotted them in 5&10 and (occasionally) in Stage 1!
DSparkletoes says
That’s great! Fingers crossed they stay right where they are ^_^
