We were back in Hollywood Studios over the weekend keeping up with all of the changes in this changing park.
And yes, this is what a day in Central Florida can look like – on one side of the arch it is a beautiful blue sky, the other side a threatening, grey sky! How many times have you been caught without a rain coat or umbrella on this kind of day?
What’s New on Hollywood Boulevard
As usual, our first stop of the day was in Trolley Car Cafe (Starbucks). Just as in Magic Kingdom, we were happy to see our favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte on the menu along with the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino.
You can pair your fall favorite drink with a Pumpkin Scone which has returned for the season.
If you are on pumpkin over-load you can still have a Toy Story Grand Opening Celebration Cupcake or Incredibles 2 Cupcake. We are really surprised to see these here still – so be sure to grab one when you can as we would think some seasonal cupcakes might start making appearances here.
Of course, the always popular Carrot Cake Cookie is here – and is that more frosting than before??? Plus, check out that Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Cupcake! That’s a diet killer for sure!
Over at Chinese Theatre we noticed there are now construction walls up at the entrance as they work on the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway ride. This new ride is set to open next year.
What’s New on Sunset Boulevard
If you are looking for a Mickey Straw with your frozen drink at Anaheim Produce you’ll notice that the drinks no longer come with the Mickey Straws. We have been told by a few cast members that the Mickey Straws are being phased out of the parks because too many of them are being thrown away. Another reason to pick up your reusable straws before your visit.
Joffrey’s has some new seasonal drinks on their menu: a Pumpkin Pie Latte and a Caramel Apple Butter Chai Latte. Plus! You can spike your drinks with Baileys. Vodka, Kahlua, or Irish Whiskey!
What’s New on Echo Lake
is promoting their Minnie’s Halloween Dine which is part of Minnie’s Seasonal Dine. Minnie’s Halloween Dine is running September 3 – November 8, 2018.
What’s New in Merchandise
We found a couple of new additions to the Snow Globes featuring popular rides. The new additions are Peter Pan’s Flight and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
These join The Haunted Mansion, it’s a small world, and Snow White snow globes already part of the line.
How cute are these Eeyore socks with their 3-D applique tail? We love how the seam looks like he has a long face.
These Toy Story Mash-Up Mugs are too much! This is the Toy Story characters in a Pirates of the Caribbean scene! Check out this post on these mugs!
The Legends of Hollywood store has these re-usable Star Wars Tumblers featuring classic characters and scenes.
And speaking of Star Wars…
What’s New in Star Wars Land: Galaxy’s Edge
A stop in Toy Story Land provides a peek into the progress on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
It is pretty darn close to the concept Model on display in “Walt Disney Presents” – what do you think?
What’s New on Grand Avenue
Around the other side of Star Wars Land is Grand Avenue. This is where we found some Christmas ornaments that quite frankly make us feel old! But we love ’em anyway!
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is home to a new line of Sketchbook Legacy Ornaments celebrating film anniversaries.
Let’s start feeling old with the 25th anniversary of Nightmare before Christmas.
Followed by the 30th anniversary of Roger Rabbit.
Well, Marvel’s Avengers is only 10 years old.
and Wall-E clocks in at 10 as well.
But, Mulan is 20!
It all started in a Galaxy Far Far Away 35 years ago!
Finally, some movies I didn’t actually see in the theater when they came out! 😀 The Sword and Stone is celebrating 55 years.
Chip and Dale are 75! What a pair
And the biggest anniversary of all – Mickey’s 90th!
For those of you who have graduates in your family, or you are one, be sure to pick up these picture perfect ornaments!
Check out their selfies!
And one more age alert – how many of you remember making mix tapes?! Grab this Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Tape Vol 2 Ornament!
What’s New with Hollywood Studios Skyliner Construction and Bus Stops
There is a lot of work going on for the installation of the Skyliner system. This will connect Hollywood Studios to Epcot, the Caribbean Beach, Art of Animation, Pop Century, and new Riviera Resort.
The Hollywood Studios Skyliner Station is moving along.
You can see it has some of the same architectural elements as the front gates and ticket windows for the park.
The original area for the buses and trams is now closed. There is a new location for both of these drop offs. Thankfully, they have recently installed some tents and umbrellas for shade while we wait for the construction to be completed on the new bus stop area.
Construction progress on the new bus stop:
The New Bus Loop Map is posted for your transportation to and from the park.
As they say in Hollywood – “that’s a wrap!” But this doesn’t have to be the end of your food tour! Check out our Hollywood Studios Food Tour below – and all of our Food Tours on You Tube!

The new bus stops are much further away. It was very slow going after fireworks the one night we were there because everyone heading for a bus or their car were funneled through one narrow space.

I love the Eeyore socks, and so many great ornaments, especially the grads with the selfies, and I’m always excited to see info on the skyway. Great, enjoyable blog ladies!

Thanks, Essie!

That walk to the bus is sooooo long now!
D’awn says
We went to the studios and couldn’t believe how far we had to walk from the bus stop. Being dropped off at the furthest bus stop away, we literally clocked a mile . 1 mile to entrance. Totally ridiculous! Very HOT this past week in Florida so after our very long hot walk from the buses, we didn’t want to linger in the no-shade Toy Story Land.
What we noticed this visit was out of all the parks, DHS has the least green spaces (grass and trees), which it makes it one of the hottest places in WDW.
DFB Sarah says
D’awn, we’ll have to see how this unfolds as they finish up work at HS. Thanks for sharing!
