We popped into Epcot to see what was happening in addition to the Food and Wine Festival. We found quite a few updates around the park!
We’ll never tire of seeing this sight — especially on a sunny day!
What’s New in Epcot’s Future World
Our first stop was in Fountain View for a cool drink. We could choose from some of the Fall Drinks we’ve seen in all the Starbucks locations in the parks – Pumpkin Spice Latte and Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino.
You can pair your drink with a Boston Cream Pie Cupcake, which is back in the bakery case!
We also found the Chocolate Dipped Krispie Treats have returned. They look so festive with their Mickey sprinkles!
If you’re looking for a treat that is more in-tune with the fall theme try the Maple Pecan Muffin.
The Gourmet Popcorn Stand does not have their flavored popcorn right now. We asked and were told some equipment is being fixed and it will be about three weeks until the flavored popcorn returns.
We’ll miss our Cheddar Cheese, Buffalo Bleu Cheese, and Sour Cream and Chive popcorn!
In Sunshine Seasons we were happy to see the return of the Banana Chocolate Nut Muffins. These used to be “regular” items, but we have not seen them here in a while.
And, don’t forget last week we found Deep Dish Pizza on the menu here.
We did find that the Vegan Flatbread, Spicy Fish Taco, and kids’ Grilled Cheese Sandwich were removed from the menu at Sunshine Seasons.
The Vegan Korma with Gardein Meatless Chik’n and Cashews is still available as a Vegan option.
All of the Joffrey’s stands are offering their Fall Drinks — Pumpkin Pie Latte, Caramel Apple Butter Chai Latte, and Cold Brew Pumpkin Creme Brulee.
Plus, you can get your drinks spiked at Joffrey’s with Baileys, Vodka, Kahlua, or Irish Whiskey.
The construction for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride is moving along. In the last week a lot of demolition of the Universe of Energy has been completed. The facade has been removed.
We captured views of the ride building from around the park. This is going to be quite a ride and will dominate the skyline. We can’t wait to get in line for this ride opening in the Fall of 2021.
In the Test Track area we found they are dismantling the Family Play Zone Kids’ Playground that was set up for the Food and Wine Festival. Check our our full post and all of our pictures here.
Here’s hoping it returns soon!
What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase
In Norway the Kringla Bakeri og Kafe has been open for a few weeks, but we can still see some work with a construction wall in front of the old entrance to the merchandise store.
We saw that Anna’s Birthday Cupcakes are now Chocolate instead of Vanilla with Blue Frosting. The cast member we spoke to thought the vanilla with blue icing was being discontinued.
In the movie Frozen Anna and Elsa did both like Chocolate, so this change remains true to the characters.
Even though Kringla is now open, the Midnattssol stand that served as Norway’s temporary bakery during Kringla’s refurbishment is still up, but not operational.
At the Outpost they are now doing Halloween themed face painting. Which one will you or your kiddo choose? We’re leaning towards the Pumpkin Magic!
In Germany, the Bier Cart has an updated look. The actual cart portion with wheels is a lighter brown than it was before.
Of course, you can still get good German Bier here, as well as Pretzels as big as your head!
We also found some Tiaras here featuring Villains – so if you’re feeling like a princess with an edge these are for you!
The Italy Pizza Window, Pizza al Taglio, has been open for a few weeks and has generated much buzz as to whether or not pizza slices and alcoholic drinks are snack credits on the Disney Dining Plan. We confirmed with a cast member that the Pizza Slices and Alcoholic Drinks are NOT snack credit eligible. However, they are Counter Service Credit eligible.
In France we found these Mickey and Minnie Love Paris items. Look at this mug – it is in the shape of a heart!
There is also a travel mug in this collection.
And, for your snacks with your tea or coffee, a little dessert plate.
Our favorite part of this collection is this t-shirt though!
It wouldn’t be France without Parasols – and we found them decorating parasols with a special Food and Wine motif!
If you’ve brought kiddos with you to Epcot, try out the Kidcot stops with them. Ziploc is a new sponsor of these stops. Your kiddo gets this fun Ziploc bag that looks like a suitcase to travel the World Showcase with you.
Your kiddo then collects and “packs” informational cards from each country in their “suitcase”.
On one side of the card is a scene to color. The card above is from Norway, the card below is from Mexico.
On the reverse side is some information/trivia about the country, and at each Kidcot stop your kiddo collects a “welcome” greeting from the cast member at the stop.
When you’ve made it around the World Showcase your kiddo then gets a postcard from Mickey!
This is part of Ziploc’s overall sponsorship with Disney which includes distribution of Ziploc bags at Splash Mountain in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
What’s New in Merchandise at Epcot
Our last stop of the day was in Mouse Gear in Future World and we found some unique merchandise here! Calling at Figment Fans – this purse is just for you!
And Oogie Boogie Fans aren’t left out – look at this plush!
We’ve been finding new snow globes all over the parks. We love this Sorcerer Mickey Snow Globe.
In addition to snow globes – we’ve found socks galore. These Mickey Balloon ones might be our new favorites.
Whew, time to relax while Mickey grills some dinner for us!

Those Ziploc Kidcot “suitcases” are really stinkin’ cute!! Also, love the Minnie/Mickey Parisian coffee mugs! BUT, $45 for a tiara?!?! Am I missing a perk or make-over that comes with it? That’s seems crazy, even for Disney’s standards!
Andee says
Interesting that they’re going nuts to get rid of plastic straws but giving away plastic ziploc bags at splash mountain (too small to protect much) and plastic bags all over Epcot. You almost have to feel bad for a company like ziplock. Manufacturing plastic bags can’t be great right now.
Carole says
Are the ziploc kidcot “suitcases” in place of the kidcot passports?
I really hope not since those passports were perfectly themed to travel around the world as well as a wonderful souvenir.

I was just in Epcot last week, and your Japan picture is the first one I’ve seen that conveys how huge Guardians of the Galaxy is. Ya’ll, you can see it everywhere.. in the parking lot, all over the World Showcase.. it’s just tremendous! I don’t know how they’ll make it blend.. maybe they won’t.

Carole, the passports that you pay for are still available!
