The Magic Kingdom is hoppin’! Before we even got into the park we saw construction and changes at the parking lot trams, then spotted MORE construction updates around Cinderella Castle and on the new Tron attraction. And that’s all before we checked on the park-wide transition to paper straws, noticed the return of the Mickey sippers, and checked out a ton of new merchandise…

What’s New at the Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center

The parking lot trams have a new drop off location while work is being done around the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). This does mean a longer walk to the TTC which offers access to the Monorail and Ferryboat to the Magic Kingdom. Have your walking shoes on! What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland

The work around Cinderella Castle’s moat continues.  This is quite a project that you can see all around the Castle and hub area.

The work may impact some of your photos, but should not be too intrusive overall.

The most noticeable construction is going on in the area along the sidewalk from Liberty Square to Fantasyland. 

We didn’t find any new treats in Big Top Treats, but we did find some new signs. You won’t need to ask about the cake pop flavors anymore because the signs now tell you what the flavors are. Now your hardest task is choosing a flavor…or two.

So, which do you choose: Vanilla, Red Velvet, Chocolate, or those cute Mickey and Minnie ones?

What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland

Work continues on the new Tron attraction coming to the Magic Kingdom in 2021.

You’ll find work going on in the areas of the temporarily-closed Tomorrowland Speedway, the currently in-residence Walt Disney World Railroad, and at the Fanstasyland Train Station.

The new Tron attraction will open in time for Magic Kingdom’s 50th anniversary celebrations in 2021.

If orange is your favorite color, you’ll love the new paint color on Auntie Gravity’s Ice Cream and Smoothies. What do you think of the new color? Does it go with the theme of the shop or Tomorrowland?

What’s New in the Magic Kingdom

Paper straws are showing up all over the Magic Kingdom

as Disney works to reduce the waste from single-use plastics in the parks and resorts. We still found some plastic straws in Main Street’s Confectionery, and outdoor pretzel and churro carts, but nearly every regular counter service location is now offering paper straws. In addition to paper straws, we also spotted the Mickey and Minnie Balloon popcorn buckets around the parks. The Mickey version was available at Main Street popcorn carts, and the new Minnie version was at Maurice’s in Fantasyland on the day we visited the park.

The Mickey Sippers are back in stock!! We found these must-have sippers in Casey’s Corner, Cosmic Ray’s, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn, and Pinocchio Village Haus. The sippers are $15.99 each.

What’s New in the Magic Kingdom’s Shops and Stores — New Merchandise!!

Fans of Danielle Nicole handbags, or Cinderella Castle fans, this alert is just for you! Check out the new Danielle Nicole Cinderella Castle handbag!

For new Moms and Dads (or Mom and Dads to be), check out the new Disney Petunia Pickle Bottom line of baby gear. There are bags, backpacks, bag hooks and more in this line.

Most of the bags in this line have insulated areas or sleeves, an area for wipes containers, and some even have a roll-out panel for changing baby on-the-go.

There’s even a bag celebrating Mickey’s 90th!

We found this elegant looking bag as well. Which do you prefer: the black backpack for Mickey’s 90th or the pink Minnie bag?

Rather than juggle all of your bags, there’s a handy stroller hook available, too, which just so happens to look like a certain famous mouse to help you carry all your baby necessities.

The Patched line grows with an Emperor’s New Groove set of four patches and a patch with Mickey and the American flag that is perfect for the summer.

Did you hear a big movie is opening this Friday? We found the perfect hat for you to wear to the theater when you see Avengers: Endgame this weekend! You can also wear this Rocket the Raccoon hat when the Guardians of the Galaxy ride opens in Epcot in 2021!
