Ahhh, the infamous Beverly soda. You know the one — it’s the bitter soda from Italy that’s located in Club Cool in Epcot’s Future World at Walt Disney World. The one you trick your friends into drinking as you photograph their reactions for posterity. Yeah, that Beverly.
Beverly used to be found only in Epcot’s Future World, but when the Coca-Cola Store Orlando opened in Disney Springs a few years ago, they brought the Beverly with them. (They also brought just about every other international and domestic Coke product, too!)
The Coca-Cola Store is three stories tall and filled with a polar bear mascot meet-and-greet, a rooftop bar, and more Coke-branded merchandise than you’d ever thought possible.
Spoiler alert (or not): it was…not our favorite.
But on a recent trip to Disney Springs, we noticed something different: Beverly’s Revenge is now made with Hendrick’s Gin, Blackberry Liqueur, Cherry Syrup, Mint, and Orange Slices. Would this updated cocktail with the addition of more berry and cherry flavor help rescue our least favorite soda from certain rejection?
Short answer: YES!
At first glance, Beverly’s Revenge is a much more appealing color — pink rather than brownish orange. The cherry syrup really comes through in the color. And since we eat (er, drink) with our eyes first, the cocktail is already off to a better start!
And taste-wise: call me crazy but I enjoyed it! My first sip was overwhelmingly Beverly-filled which, blech. But after I mixed the Beverly up with the gin, sweet blackberry liqueur, and sweet cherry syrup, the bitterness of the Beverly acted somewhat like tonic, and the flavors reminded me of a fruity gin & tonic.
Is it the best cocktail I’ve ever had? No, but I didn’t hate it, and I’d even drink it again. And for a drink made with Beverly, that is a HUGE compliment.

Are you anti- or pro-Beverly? Let us know which side of the cup you land on in the comments!
I love Beverly… but I also love Campari (and therefore Negronis), Aperol Spritzes, black coffee, and other bitter/bittersweet flavors. Glad to see others coming around a bit. 🙂
I drank enough Beverly over the course of several visits to become used to the bitterness. So it was fun to walk into Club Cool, head straight for the Beverly, chug a cup or two, and watch people be grossed out.
Have loved the Beverley for almost 10 years now! It’s actually a family joke…
This is nothing new I have been bringing Gin to add to Beverly for years We called it Dirty Beverly.
