Hello there, world travelers! Welcome to our latest roundup of What’s New in Epcot!
We’ve got a lot to cover today — including Arendelle Aqua merch and treats — so let’s dive right in!
Epcot Food Update
In case you missed it, Disney has revealed its newest color trend collection — Arendelle Aqua — and treats and merchandise items have started to appear in Epcot! At Sunshine Seasons, the new Arendelle Aqua Pearl Cupcake was available in addition to the Seasonal Vegan Cupcake.
We, of course, had to try the Arendelle Aqua Pearl Cupcake! This cupcake is a bit similar in look and in taste to the popular Rose Gold Cupcake and consists of yellow cake, Nutella filling, a mountain of vanilla buttercream, and a fondant bow and ears.
While we enjoyed the cake, filling, and frosting, we were not fans of the fondant bow and ears (but who cares when they look so cute??). You can grab this cupcake from Sunshine Seasons for $5.49 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit!
Also debuting at Sunshine Seasons in celebration of the new color trend is Arendelle Aqua Frozen Lemonade! A member of our extended DFB family got to try the lemonade during the V.I.PASSHOLDER event in Epcot, but it should be available by the time the new collection officially drops on Friday, September 13th.
We actually chose to add Bacardi Raspberry Rum to our lemonade, which features Monin Cotton Candy Syrup. This slush was super refreshing, tart, and super photogenic to boot!
While you can get the non-alcoholic Arendelle Aqua Frozen Lemonade for $6.49 (or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit), our boozy version was $11.25.
Continuing our Arendelle Aqua adventure in World Showcase, the Arendelle Aqua Victoria Sponge Cake was available during our latest visit. Note that they didn’t have any special signage out for this treat yet, so you may need to ask for it.
The Arendelle Aqua Victoria Spongecake is a classic sponge cake with a bit of Arendelle Aqua-colored icing. We LOVED the light and airy texture of the cake. The icing was a little too sweet for us but we enjoyed the addition of strawberry jam inside.
You can find the Arendelle Aqua Victoria Sponge Cake at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK Pavilion in Epcot for $4.29.
Over in the Norway Pavilion, we stumbled upon the Frozen Arendelle Aqua Lemonade at Norway’s Beer Cart. While this drink wasn’t available to the public yet, a member of our team tried it during the V.I.PASSHOLDER event.
The frozen lemonade is mixed with passion fruit and pineapple, and spoiler alert — it’s amazing! The tart lemonade balances the passion fruit and pineapple flavors, blending them all together in a slightly sweet, but definitely mouth-puckering taste. If you like tart frozen drinks, you’ll want to take a sip of the Frozen Arendelle Aqua Lemonade!
You should be able to grab this Frozen-inspired drink for $5.25 once the Arendelle Aqua collection officially launches on Friday, September 13th.
Epcot Construction Update
During our time in Future World, we took note of the ongoing construction on Epcot’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction. When we were there, it looked like there were more workers on the roof than usual.
The new coaster is expected to open in time for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021 and we can hardly contain our anticipation!
Construction is also underway on Epcot’s Space 220 restaurant — we wish we could take a peek inside! This immersive dining location is slated to open this year, and it will offer internationally-inspired cuisine and more than 1,000 bottles of wine.
We’ve been keeping you posted on the exterior updates to the Odyssey Events Pavilion, and we noticed even more new paint! During our latest visit, we spotted blue and white directional designs before the bridge.
In case you missed it, the NEW Epcot Experience is coming to the Pavilion this October.
In World Showcase, construction work is continuing to progress on the International Gateway Skyliner station.
Disney World’s Skyliner Gondola System will officially take to the skies on September 29th, connecting Epcot and Hollywood Studios to several Disney resorts.
The France Pavilion is in the midst of construction as well, as THREE new experiences are on the way.
Epcot Merchandise Update
Arendelle Aqua merchandise has arrived at Mouse Gear, people! Even though the new color trend collection doesn’t officially launch until Friday, September 13th, quite a few of the items were available to purchase during our latest visit.
We spotted Arendelle Aqua Loungefly backpacks ($90)…
…Minnie Ears ($27.99), and SO MUCH MORE.
The Arendelle Aqua Alex & Ani Minnie Ears Bracelets ($44.99) were on display, but they were unfortunately sold out. 🙁
Heritage Manor Gifts
In Heritage Manor Gifts, we found a few America-themed merchandise items we hadn’t seen before. We spotted a USA Tumbler ($24.99)…
…an American Flag Mug ($16.99)…
…and a USA Red Solo Cup ($9.99)!
Before we left Epcot, we HAD to take a few photos of the Germany train display!
If you look really close, you can spot flags promoting the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. They aren’t new, but they ARE cute!
Well, friends, that wraps up our walk around Epcot’s Future World and World Showcase — thanks for joining us! Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for even more news from the Disney parks and resorts.
