Earlier today we brought you the exciting news that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will soon start accepting FastPass+ at Hollywood Studios!
But, before you grab your flight suit and get ready to explore the galaxy, we’ve got even MORE news coming out of Hollywood Studios — and it’s something that’ll make you smile on this Thursday morning!
Starting on February 19th, 2020, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be added as a FastPass+ option at Hollywood Studios. BUT, that’s not the only exciting change coming that day! The addition of Millennium Falcon has changed up the FastPass+ Tiers, so the ONLY Tier One FastPass+ options will be Millennium Falcon and Slinky Dog Dash!Â
That means you can book a ride on the Falcon, AND test your carnival game skills over at Toy Story Mania, AND ride the music with Rock n’ Roller Coaster!
This is a huge change, as up until February 18th, 2020, rides like Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania are listed as Tier One, and since you can only choose a single Tier One for your initial FastPass+, you’re stuck waiting in line — or hoping for a day-of FastPass — for other e-ticket attractions.
But, for FastPass+ booked February 19th and later, you can see that every ride aside from Millennium Falcon and Slinky Dog Dash are fair game to book alongside your Tier One FastPass+! SCORE!
So what are YOU going to pair with piloting the Falcon??

Alien Swirling Saucers still showing as tier 1 for me (week of feb 3)
Oh god I can definitely read *facepalm*. Feb 18 carry on…
If the first date for your booking is Feb 18 do you recommend booking on Feb 18 and making changes of Feb 19 or waiting until feb19?
Thank you sooo much for this update! My husband and are going in March and we able to grab smugglers run and still keep our toy story mania fast pass! We’re even more excited!!
So do you still need a Boarding Group to get in to GE ? How will this work with FP for the Falcon?
So what are you supposed to do if you are making fast pass choices feb 15th. Should I wait to make HS selections until the 19th?
I’m OK with this change. Maybe I can get 3 Rockin Roller Coaster, back to back!
YESSSSS, SO EXCITED!!!
Thanks, AJ – saw your email, read the info above, and have now changed my FP for March and GOT ONE for Millennium Falcon, also one for Toy Story Mania!! Thank you for all that you do. It is hard to work when your information comes out and you are the #1 reason for me “goofing off”, but I work for myself, so who cares – Disney trips are more important!!
Wow! Got your email and I now have Smuggler’s Run ! Thanks so much for the heads-up!
Well, that’s great news for us! At least, we’ll get to ride ONE attraction at Galaxy’s Edge. As I’ve noted on other posts, there is NO WAY we are getting up at 5 am to drive to HS (we’re staying off-site) for a ROTR Boarding Group. Maybe, by mid-April, we’ll be able to get a late day Boarding Group once this mess dies down. Really?!? Going to the park at 7 AM for a ride? Nothing in our lives is worth that — but there’s plenty to do in HS anyway.
Of course I’m going the week before this change :). Oh well, looking forward to visiting the parks. Keep up the good work!
Yeeeeeesssssss! I am SO glad they changed that tier!!! It was awful that most of the entire park was on tier one!!! This makes much more sense!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This Badly needed to be done!!! Re-working plans for our next trip now! Yay!!
Hooray! That is much better for guests!
Leslie, if it works with your schedule and if you like to maximize your FastPasses, you might consider waiting until the 19th to go to DHS. But you’ll have to make that call for yourself. 🙂
Leslie, you only need a boarding group to ride Rise of the Resistance, unless the land closes for capacity, which it has not done in a while.
Cathy, if you’re arriving on the 18th, you can make FastPass reservations now.
We are going to Disney world end of Feb early March but so far not been offered a fast pass for Slinky dog or Smugglers run. Was expecting to get one over a 14 day Holiday but no.. my 4 year old is going to love wating for over a hour to get them.
Lee, our advice is to keep checking — multiple times a day, if you can — for FastPasses to be available (as folks release their FastPasses, you might have luck and get one for yourself. I believe there are also programs online where they’ll check automatically for you, but I don’t know much about them.
If those are the only 2 choices for tier 1, I wonder if that means Smugglers Run and Slinky will be impossible to get, just like Flights of Passage. Between the 2 choices I also wonder which will be the more popularchoice.
