Guess who’s back, back again! DFB’s back with the allll the refurb closures you need to know about. Alright!
March is coming and you know what that means — spriiiiiing break! That’s right, tons of people will be headed to Disney in the next few weeks to celebrate their time off schools (or their kiddo’s time off school).
Still, just because the parks will be busy doesn’t mean that EVERYTHING will be open while the crowds explore. Here’s a list of all the attractions that will be closed for refurbishment this week (March 2nd through March 8th)!
Refurbishments in Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
The shocker here, but the Lily Belle is still taking a rest. Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for months and we are waiting oh-so-patiently for it to be chugging along once more.
The track was interrupted by construction over at TRON Lightcycle Run and as the coaster inches towards completion, the train is only available as a fun photo op at Fantasyland Station. TRON is expected to finish up sometime before Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in the Summer of 2021, but hopefully, the rails will be running before then.

Refurbishments in Animal Kingdom
Kali River Rapids
A winter closure continues for Kali River Rapids as the high-maintenance water ride gets its yearly TLC. No worries though, we should be racing down the river again (and regretting it when we’re soaked afterward) on March 21st.

Refurbishments in Disney World Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon
Like Kali River Rapids, Typhoon Lagoon is closed right now as Disney gives it a nice cold weather break. Construction galore is taking place behind the scenes and we expect the park to reopen sometime around mid-March. Not too long now!
Refurbishments in Disneyland
Haunted Mansion
Wowza! So few refurbs in Disney World! Well, the same can’t be said for the west coast parks. Right now, classic attractions are closed for work left and right in Disneyland. For instance, the OG Haunted Mansion remains closed for some mystery updates. Oooooh! Whatever we are, we hope there’s still “room for one more” when the ride reopens in the Spring.

Snow White’s Scary Adventures
Which is scarier, Haunted Mansion or Snow White’s Scary Adventures? Well, now’s not the time to try to figure it out since BOTH attractions are currently closed. The Snow White dark ride is getting a super cool facelift — maybe even one that will make it less scary! It’s about time Disneyland Snow got her happily ever after. We’ll check out a new scene and a new vignette when Snow White’s Scary Adventures reopens at an unannounced date.

King Arthur Carrousel
Just across the way in Fantasyland, King Arthur Carrousel is getting some touch-ups too. This is a truly historic attraction so we’re happy that it’s being kept in good shape. On the bright side, you can check out some history of the Carrousel on the construction barriers! The reopening date has yet to be announced.

Sailing Ship Columbia
A new closure is hitting Disneyland this week too but this one is a shorty. The Sailing Ship Columbia will be docked from Monday (March 2nd) to Friday (March 3rd). These short closures are common for the Columbia so we’ll be sailing again soon!
Refurbishments in California Adventure
Red Car Trolley
Popping into Disney California Adventure reveals a few more closures. Like the Railroad in Disney World, the Red Car Trolley has also had its tracks interrupted by some major construction. As work on the Avengers Campus carries on, the Trolley is not running. Hopefully, it will reopen alongside the opening of the new land in the summer.

Jessie’s Critter Carousel
And we’ve got a REOPENING — honestly our fave thing to see in our refurb updates! Jessie’s Critter Carousel has been behind barriers for a couple of weeks but it looks like we’ll be wrangling those critters again on Thursday, March 5th!

And there you have it, folks! That’s EVERYTHING closed for refurb in Disney World and Disneyland next week! Whew!
