Who’s having MAJOR Disney Parks withdrawal right now?? Us, for sure!
Although Disney World is closed, we’ve been building our own homemade attractions, creating some crazy Minnie Ears, and watching how the Disney Parks were made. And, now we’re taking you INSIDE an empty Disney World that you’ve probably never seen before.
While we’ve already spotted a vacant Magic Kingdom, WESH 2 News in Orlando took us on a tour of empty Disney World parks and resorts by helicopter (and we’re shocked to see them so quiet).
Disney Transportation
Since no guests are in the parks right now, we’re not really needing Disney Transportation at the moment. But, it’s still SO WEIRD to see an entire fleet of Disney buses…
…and rows of Skyliner Gondolas still for the moment.
We really miss the excitement of traveling to the parks on these guys. ):
Disney Springs
While we’ve had plenty of time to do some online shopping, we can’t wait to go back to Disney Springs to shop till we drop!! Since the restaurant and shopping center closed along with the rest of the Disney World, we aren’t entirely sure when it will reopen.
However, we know that we’ll be making a bee-line to Wine Bar George for Mac and Cheese Bites when they do!
Disney Resorts
All the Disney Resorts have temporarily closed, and we miss taking ya with us to check out what’s new! But, you can still get a peek of your favorite spots through the helicopter tour. Just look at Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort,…
…Beach Club Resort,…
…Swan and Dolphin Resorts,…
… the Contemporary Resort,…
…and the Polynesian Resort. .
We really just need a pool day again, you guys
Disney Parks
With all the Disney Parks in the world being closed for the first time EVER, it feels pretty strange to not be sharing the latest stuff in Disney World with you. And, while Disney World will be closed “until further notice,” we are sooo happy to see our favorite places in the world (except we miss them more now). You can spot the icy slopes of Blizzard Beach…
…before catching a wave over to Hollywood Studios!
It’s almost creepy how empty the park is, but our hearts are full seeing the Tower of Terror stand tall (and terrifying) in Hollywood Studios.
You can also catch the Alien Swirling Saucers (just not spinning at the moment)…
…and Slinky Dog Dash paused until its next race.
Galaxy’s Edge isn’t seeing any guests from far, far away (and boy, do we miss Batuu!). While you can make your own Fried Endorian Tip-Yip at home…
…it’s just SO much better grabbing one from Docking Bay 7 before heading over to pilot the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Epcot is looking so much quieter than usual now that the construction in the park has stopped on the Epcot Transformation.
Call us sentimental, but have you ever seen anything so beautiful? Wow, we can’t get over how stunning Cinderella Castle is!!
You can look back into Fantasyland, remembering all those good times with your families and friends…
…and check out a VERY empty Main Street, U.S.A. (and the start of the castle’s newest makeover!).
Oh, and Mickey and Walt told us to tell you that they can’t wait to see you real soon!! 😉
We’re totally in our feels missing the parks right now!! Who else is ready to plan their next vacation to Disney World??
You can also see what an empty Disneyland looks like here!

New world. Twilight zone…..at Disney and everywhere!
Brandon says
Ah. The days when this is what a busy day in the park used to look like. I thought we’d never see this again.
Not quite what I was imagining.
Roz says
Those pics are some of the saddest I’ve ever seen. I miss my Disney so much and just don’t like being in limbo just waiting and waiting. This is terrible !!!!
Colleen Burdick says
As sad as these picture are my wish upon a star would be to see the Cinderella Castle this empty just once in my lifetime. You can almost do it if you are there early early early. It breaks my heart to see the empty streets of a place that has brought me so many happy memories since 1971. I will be there for the 50 year celebration.

Is maintenance continuing while the parks are closed like maintaining the flowers, grass cuts, maintaining ph levels in pools?

We were supposed to be in Disneyland on March 14th, 2020. We got word two days before our flight that they were closing down due to corona v. This would have been my first time back there is 35 years and my daughter’s first time ever. Daughter’s first wedding anniversary Disney Cruise for end of May just got canceled too. We venture to WDW a few times a year since 2001 and I started my love for Disney in CA when I was three. We are missing our Disney so much.
Judy says
Had a trip planned for May, but it isn’t going to happen. We have reservations for October, and I’m praying that we can make that trip. I’m even longing for the crowds…..didn’t think I would ever say that. 🙂 We are missing our Disney so very badly!!
Dave says
I know, so sad as received our cancellation of dining reservations yesterday for what was our next early May trip. Kept the fix going seeing it on the app now its gone. So happy we were there literally 2 days before closure at WDW. Our decision in retrospect to ride Spaceship earth vs doing it on early May trip before it closed, in hindsight may prove to be a fulfilling decision. Hope they delay that and put money into finishing existing rides such as Guardian of the Galaxy and Tron and places like Space 220 etc. Its about maximizing why people should go to Disney, and right now a refurb isn’t as drawing as a Tron, G of G, or Rata2E ride to experience.

This is just such a trying time, the only thing that keeps me from not crying everyday is my trip to Disney this November. I just planned it on Easter when I felt myself not able to stop crying except wanting to go to the happiest place on earth. Working in a hospital and seeing all of my coworkers getting drained emotionally, I am glad that I can think of better times to come. Thanks Disney.
