Since many places have been closed since March as a health and safety precaution, Florida has been looking for ways to reopen the state up to the public in phases.
Although we’ve already given you details on how theme parks will likely need to operate and how restaurants can start opening up this week with 25% capacity, now, Desantis has announced that state parks will open again this upcoming week.
Starting May 4th, Governor Ron DeSantis will be reopening state parks as part of his plan to bring tourism back into the economy of the state according to WCTV.
While there will be certain guidelines in place to promote safe visitation, the Florida State Parks Foundation CEO Julia Gill Woodward has stated that “At this time of incredible stress in the lives of so many people, beginning to reopen the parks allows our residents and visitors to spend quality time outdoors in a safe environment.”
While theme parks are not open at this time, with the state slowly reopening, Florida has shared potential plans to reopen theme parks with new cleaning protocols, lowered capacity, and more in the future. We will continue to keep you updated as Florida releases more information about the steps they are taking.
