We’ve been missing riding our favorite attractions and seeing our favorite shows at theme parks around the world (don’t mind us, we’ll just be daydreaming about Splash Mountain over here).
Shanghai Disneyland is planning to reopen and Disney World and Disneyland have stated they are looking into the possibility of virtual queues, capacity limits, and increased health and safety protocols during a phased reopening. And we are already seeing theme parks in the U.S. trend towards phased re-openings starting with their restaurants!
Knott’s Berry Farm in California will be reopening its on-site Chicken-To-Go restaurant for takeout orders on May 6th.
This comes after the news that there is a possibility Universal Orlando CityWalk will be opening their Starbucks and Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville locations on May 11th. Although Universal originally stated the parks and CityWalk wouldn’t open until at least May 31st, they did state that they would be monitoring the situation and making changes as needed.
Disney has even stated that retail and dining locations may reopen before the parks do as well. They have already started re-opening the restaurants and stores of their overseas locations with health screening, social distancing, and limited capacity.
Although there could be phased re-openings in Disneyland and Disney World, restaurants in Downtown Disney and Disney Springs could be among the earlier phases. (We are totally craving Mac and Cheese Bites from Wine Bar George!!)
Fried Chicken To Go may be a small step in the scheme of things, but if it means we could be one step closer to riding Splash Mountain, we are pretty thrilled!
