Disney World just shared that their new Park Pass Reservation System will open to guests with existing reservations on June 22nd.
The Park Pass System will help manage park attendance for the foreseeable future as the Disney parks reopen with limited capacity caps in place (Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11th, and Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen on July 15th). All guests will need a Park Pass reservation on top of their valid park entry to enter any Disney World theme park.
Let’s take a look at how this new system will work. Check out ALL the details and a TUTORIAL below!
Disney World Theme Park Pass Reservation System Details
The Park Pass System is an online tool to help guests with making their park reservations. Again, ALL GUESTS with a valid ticket for entry will also require an advance Park Pass reservation to enter the park. To enter a park, valid entry and a park reservation are required for the same park on the same date for each person in your group ages three and up.
Keep in mind that you are limited to one park per day with the reservation system at this time. Visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable during the reopening phase due to attendance limitations.
Note also that a separate reservation will be required for each day in a theme park. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will need a reservation for each day of your ticket.
Reservations are subject to availability and are NOT guaranteed until a reservation is finalized. Disney recommends that you make your theme park reservations as soon as you purchase your tickets, as availability is subject to change until your reservation is finalized.

Important Dates To Note
The Park Pass System will open to guests in phases.
Existing Ticket Holders
The following are the need-to-know dates for guests with existing hotel reservations, and current ticket holders:
- Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations beginning June 22nd.
- Annual Passholders without an already-booked Resort Hotel stay can make reservations beginning June 26th.
- Existing ticket holders can make reservations beginning June 28th.
Note that if you booked a vacation package, your eligibility is tied to your travel dates. To make a theme park reservation for a different date, you’ll need to modify the dates on your vacation package.
At this time, reservations will be available through September 26th, 2021, based on your room reservation and ticket eligibility. If you have a room-only reservation but do not have valid tickets, call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 939-1936 or your travel agent beginning June 24th to upgrade your package to one with tickets. You will then be able to make theme park reservations.
Those Booking a New Vacation
New hotel reservations and ticket sales are currently on hold, but new vacation bookings will open up again soon. On June 28th, all guests will be able to purchase new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets and make their park reservations for arrivals in 2021. Guests will be able to see theme park reservation availability BEFORE making ticket purchases.
For 2020 arrivals, new reservations and ticket sales will resume later this summer based on the availability of park reservations.
Tutorial
Now, let’s walk through the four-step Park Pass reservation process.
Step 1: Link your admission tickets to your Disney account.
You’ll need to make sure that your existing park admission is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account. If you do not have an MDE account you will need to make one at DisneyWorld.com. Use your account dashboard and confirmation numbers to link your park admission ticket numbers (these are usually listed on the back of the ticket) and Disney Resort hotel reservation to your MDE account.
Make sure that each person in your party has their valid admission linked. Your tickets and hotel stays must be linked so that the Park Pass system recognizes your ticket eligibility.
Step 2: Create your party.
Similar to the process when you make a Fastpass+ or Advance Dining Reservations, you will need to specify your travel party. When you begin to make your reservation, you’ll be prompted to create a party from your Family & Friends list. If anyone is not listed on your Family & Friends list, you can “Add a Guest” to include them on the reservation. (Note that in order to include other adults on the reservation, they may need to have a My Disney Experience account that’s been linked as a “friend” or “family” to yours. You can set this up before you make your theme park reservation.)
Be sure to make profiles for kids in your group ages three and up as well. Parents can manage their children’s profiles via the My Disney Experience app or website.
Your reservation party must consist of valid admission holders. Depending on your admission type, you may need to make more than one Park Pass reservation for your party. If you are staying in a Disney Resort or other eligible hotel with a ticket package, you’ll need to make sure that everyone has a hotel reservation. If not, you will need to make different Park Pass reservations.
Step 3: Select a date and park.
After your party is selected, you will be prompted to specify the reservation date you’d like to visit based on availability. You’ll be able to choose a date via a calendar, choose a theme park, and choose a time for your visit.
Step 4: Review and confirm your plans.
Before finalizing your reservation, make sure that you carefully review your selected park and dates. From the confirmation page, you can select “Back” if you need to make any changes.
To confirm, you will need to agree to the Terms & Conditions, including the COVID-19 liability waiver. Then, select “Confirm” to complete your park reservation. Once confirmed, your reservations will be listed in “My Plans” on your MDE account.
From there, you can select “Make Another Reservation” to continue planning. If you need to cancel a reservation, you can view it in “My Plans” and select “Reservation Details.” Other than that, you’re finished! You’ve made a reservation for entry into the Disney theme parks.

DFB Sarah says
Cory, I believe based on what Disney released today that you can log in and use the Disney Park Pass system for your September/October trip. If you want to make plans for all of your friends/family, you’ll need all of them linked to ONE MyDisneyExperience account.
DFB Sarah says
Abby, should be 7AM.
Matt says
After we make a reservation can we change or cancel it at no cost? What happens if we no show for a reservation?
Cindy Fournier says
If we are supposed to make park reservations on Monday at 7:00am, I hope Disney clarifies the time issue. It’s important to know whether we can at least come and go in one park. When do you think this clarification might happen?
Cory Souliere says
Can that happen even if our friends don’t have a hotel reservation?
Kathleen says
Going next April. We don’t currently have park tickets so when can we purchase? Will we be able to tell if a park reservation is even available before buying tickets?
Gail says
Ok, we cancelled until Aug 2021, we have annual passes we have not yet activated because of this virus. We like to park hop and have breakfast at one park take the kids for a nap and dinner at another park. Are we going to have to use this stupid park reservation system next year too. As an annual pàssholder we like to be flexible and go to the parks on a whim. How long is this reservation system going to last. I understand it for the near future but don’t like it for the long haul.
Lisa-Marie Swan says
Do you know if resort guest will be able to leave the park to go back to hotel ie mid afternoon and go back into park later on?
Laura Gonzalez says
Does anyone know what The time line is for phases ? wearing masks, non hopper, parades etc?
Are these new requirements/changes going into 2021?
Laura Gonzalez says
What is considered a “Park Pass”? Is that your magic band? and will all reservations be on your magic band ?
Ken says
Wow, such changes are in the works for sure. Does this mean that the days of the Park Hopper ticket is over…?
What about waterpark access… are they under the same guide, and will the waterparks even open up ?
I am very concerned about my Disney Experience in the future. I have serious concerns
Dawn says
Bless you Sarah. You’re a Saint💙I’m so confused right now. I don’t know how you keep this all organized 🤣
I have all my confirmation #‘S and our passes linked to our reservations and Magicbands.
So am I going to have to move all that over to the new reservation park system? Or when I go into the new system will it link up? I’m so sorry. I read all your blogs but it just all runs together in my head.🤪
Adam says
Hi, thanks for all your great work! We have mid September hotel booked via DVC at Riveria. Only tickets I had purchased were Not So Scary. So, don’t have park tix yet. Am I stuck? Anything for me to do on the 22nd? Thanks!
Chloe says
Hi Guys,
Thanks for your info! We see you say reservations can be made until 26th of september… our holiday is the 16th to the second of Oct, does this mean we can only reserve days for half of our holiday currently on the 28th?
Thanks again!
Chloe
Joan Teller says
I will have a one year old in the party. Do I need to include them? Obviously, they will not have a ticket to link.
Victoria says
The “time of visit” sounds really ominous. As a previous poster said, let’s hope they won’t further truncate things by not allowing you to stay all day or to leave and return. Because that’s just a way to squeeze in more people, not something they need to do to be safe or legal.
Denise says
I have a resort reservation and tickets, and will be staying in early August. Not all in my hotel party will be going into the parks. Do I need to remove them from my reservation party prior to making the park reservations, or will I be able to select certain guests for the park reservations? Just want to try to make this as efficient as possible. Thanks!
Angela says
After you’ve made a reservation, can you leave an come back to the park later in the day? Or do you have to stay at the park all day?
Paul Boland says
I am curious about the pick a time for your visit? I don’t like the sound of that! That makes it sound like the amount of time you can stay in a part is limited, and if you leave the park you may not be able to return!! Could you please clarify what this “time” means?
Rachel says
If we have changed from 11th sept 2020 to same time in 2021, do we still have to reserve our days 15 months in advance or will we need to do it closer the time?
ROBERT says
So what about the “Annual Passholders Preview Days”? That should be a few days prior to 7/11 & 7/15?
Passholders that already HAVE resort reservations for a few days prior to public opening days:
Will the Park Reservation System have those “Preveiw” dates in there so Passholders WITH a resort reservation for those previous days can choose a “Preview” day(s) ??
Drew says
Any idea on how many days an AP holder can get with hotel stays onsite?
Tom says
As a annual pass holder how many reservation can i make and is there a limit on reservations? Also how far in advanced can i make the reservation ?
Randy says
Dumb question, but where exactly will we go to make the reservations? Will it be on my MDE app?
Hope says
Does this include the water parka too?
Riagain says
Any word on if we can leave a park early for some pool time then go back for a few hours before closing ?
DFB Sarah says
Hope, at this time, no. We are still awaiting news on a reopening plan for water parks.
DFB Sarah says
Randy, not dumb at all. Info we got today indicates it’s ONLY on a web browser, not in My Disney Experience!
Lindsay says
I have a 3 day ticket but was going to use our fourth park day for MNSSHP which is cancelled. Can I add a park day or do I have to stick with only 3 that’s in my account?
DFB Sarah says
Tom, from what we learned today, APs can make up to three Disney Park Pass reservations (so three reservation days) at a time. I have not heard a timeframe on that.
Randy says
So, we would go to Disney. Com on home computer?
Debbie Compall says
What time does it start on the 22nd? What is the time we need to enter after we enter the day and park? Is it the time we are to arrive at the park?
DFB Sarah says
Drew, here’s what a teammate just found — official Disney language. “Annual Passholders staying at select Disney Resort or other select hotels with valid Theme Park admission are eligible to make Theme Park reservations for their entire Resort length of stay.”
DFB Sarah says
Robert, Disney released today that AP previews will be July 9 and 10 at MK and AK. Emails are expected to go out to APs who are eligible for previews. Here’s our story on this.
DFB Sarah says
Rachel, I think you can wait; there’s no compulsory reservation at this time. It would be up to you how you feel about waiting it out a bit.
DFB Sarah says
Lindsay, you might call Disney prior to June 22 to see if they can simply add a fourth day since you already have confirmed three-day tickets, that way you can book all four days when you’re eligible to access the Disney Park Pass. I hope this helps!
Robin says
Hello wondering we make our reservation it said time also , so wondering if can only go to one park per day I would choose hours for all day , question is we like to leave and come back later at night is that going to be allowed to come and go on your one day? Thanks
Mr.John says
Kim S . Annual pass member you can buy tickets to go into the park ,YES 👍 . You can go on line Disney World check out the discounts and hotels also . Tickets are separate and hotels of you would like to do it that way ! The best is if you are not sure call them and give dates of arrival they will help you out ! Web has tickets only and hotels and ticket that is so good right !
DFB Sarah says
Robin, we will be looking into these when the system goes live.
Prg says
We are APs with passes that expire in August. MDE does not show an extension date due to 4 month closure so will we be able to make reservations for our September stay?
DFB Sarah says
Debbie, we don’t know what the “time” situation will look like in the Disney Park Pass system. We will update once we know! As for the time the reservations will open, Disney reservations operates from 7AM EST, so we expect it will be then. However, that can change or be delayed, so we can’t be 100% sure.
DFB Sarah says
Randy, disneyworld.com and log into your My Disney Experience account, we believe. It is not expected to be in the app yet.
DFB Sarah says
Riagain, no information on this yet, but we will update when we find out.
DFB Sarah says
Paul, we will clarify when we can. When we see the system live on Monday, we will hopefully know more.
DFB Sarah says
Angela, this is on our list of things to find out!
DFB Sarah says
Hi, Denise. I’m sorry, I don’t know the answer to this. I’ll put it on our list of things to find out, but unfortunately, that likely won’t be until Monday.
DFB Sarah says
Victoria, we’ll update when we can!
DFB Sarah says
Joan, I would expect you’d be okay with them on the confirmed plans. Disney specified age in the info this morning.
DFB Sarah says
Chloe, the September 26 date is for 2021. If you’re talking about 2021, we’re not sure yet. I expect you might be okay since your trip begins before that date. If your trip is 2020, you’re good to go with plans.
DFB Sarah says
Adam, here’s what Disney says about room-only reservations: “If you have a room-only reservation at a Disney Resort or other select hotel for a stay in 2021, please call the Disney Reservation Center or call your travel professional beginning on June 24 to upgrade to a vacation package with tickets—and then make your theme park reservations.”
