Disney World just shared that their new Park Pass Reservation System will open to guests with existing reservations on June 22nd.
The Park Pass System will help manage park attendance for the foreseeable future as the Disney parks reopen with limited capacity caps in place (Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11th, and Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reopen on July 15th). All guests will need a Park Pass reservation on top of their valid park entry to enter any Disney World theme park.
Let’s take a look at how this new system will work. Check out ALL the details and a TUTORIAL below!
Disney World Theme Park Pass Reservation System Details
The Park Pass System is an online tool to help guests with making their park reservations. Again, ALL GUESTS with a valid ticket for entry will also require an advance Park Pass reservation to enter the park. To enter a park, valid entry and a park reservation are required for the same park on the same date for each person in your group ages three and up.
Keep in mind that you are limited to one park per day with the reservation system at this time. Visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable during the reopening phase due to attendance limitations.
Note also that a separate reservation will be required for each day in a theme park. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will need a reservation for each day of your ticket.
Reservations are subject to availability and are NOT guaranteed until a reservation is finalized. Disney recommends that you make your theme park reservations as soon as you purchase your tickets, as availability is subject to change until your reservation is finalized.

Important Dates To Note
The Park Pass System will open to guests in phases.
Existing Ticket Holders
The following are the need-to-know dates for guests with existing hotel reservations, and current ticket holders:
- Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations beginning June 22nd.
- Annual Passholders without an already-booked Resort Hotel stay can make reservations beginning June 26th.
- Existing ticket holders can make reservations beginning June 28th.
Note that if you booked a vacation package, your eligibility is tied to your travel dates. To make a theme park reservation for a different date, you’ll need to modify the dates on your vacation package.
At this time, reservations will be available through September 26th, 2021, based on your room reservation and ticket eligibility. If you have a room-only reservation but do not have valid tickets, call the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 939-1936 or your travel agent beginning June 24th to upgrade your package to one with tickets. You will then be able to make theme park reservations.
Those Booking a New Vacation
New hotel reservations and ticket sales are currently on hold, but new vacation bookings will open up again soon. On June 28th, all guests will be able to purchase new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets and make their park reservations for arrivals in 2021. Guests will be able to see theme park reservation availability BEFORE making ticket purchases.
For 2020 arrivals, new reservations and ticket sales will resume later this summer based on the availability of park reservations.
Tutorial
Now, let’s walk through the four-step Park Pass reservation process.
Step 1: Link your admission tickets to your Disney account.
You’ll need to make sure that your existing park admission is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account. If you do not have an MDE account you will need to make one at DisneyWorld.com. Use your account dashboard and confirmation numbers to link your park admission ticket numbers (these are usually listed on the back of the ticket) and Disney Resort hotel reservation to your MDE account.
Make sure that each person in your party has their valid admission linked. Your tickets and hotel stays must be linked so that the Park Pass system recognizes your ticket eligibility.
Step 2: Create your party.
Similar to the process when you make a Fastpass+ or Advance Dining Reservations, you will need to specify your travel party. When you begin to make your reservation, you’ll be prompted to create a party from your Family & Friends list. If anyone is not listed on your Family & Friends list, you can “Add a Guest” to include them on the reservation. (Note that in order to include other adults on the reservation, they may need to have a My Disney Experience account that’s been linked as a “friend” or “family” to yours. You can set this up before you make your theme park reservation.)
Be sure to make profiles for kids in your group ages three and up as well. Parents can manage their children’s profiles via the My Disney Experience app or website.
Your reservation party must consist of valid admission holders. Depending on your admission type, you may need to make more than one Park Pass reservation for your party. If you are staying in a Disney Resort or other eligible hotel with a ticket package, you’ll need to make sure that everyone has a hotel reservation. If not, you will need to make different Park Pass reservations.
Step 3: Select a date and park.
After your party is selected, you will be prompted to specify the reservation date you’d like to visit based on availability. You’ll be able to choose a date via a calendar, choose a theme park, and choose a time for your visit.
Step 4: Review and confirm your plans.
Before finalizing your reservation, make sure that you carefully review your selected park and dates. From the confirmation page, you can select “Back” if you need to make any changes.
To confirm, you will need to agree to the Terms & Conditions, including the COVID-19 liability waiver. Then, select “Confirm” to complete your park reservation. Once confirmed, your reservations will be listed in “My Plans” on your MDE account.
From there, you can select “Make Another Reservation” to continue planning. If you need to cancel a reservation, you can view it in “My Plans” and select “Reservation Details.” Other than that, you’re finished! You’ve made a reservation for entry into the Disney theme parks.

Have questions about the new Park Pass system? Ask them in the comments!
Allyssa K says
Do we know yet, or are there any rumors based on how long you will be allowed in the parks on the day that you have a park reservation?
Nick says
Do we know what time of day this begins ?
Melissa Phillips says
Hi. I have a resort reservation at SSR in September but havent bought tickets and no I am not an annual passholder. When will I be able to purchase tickets under the new system? I dont want to not be able to get them.
Mandy says
Hello. Just wondering if when selecting times for reservations if you would be able to choose open to close? We typically get to a park and stay there all day. Thank you for any answers you might have!!
Erin Bortz says
I have an active pass, but had bought a new pass for my daughter, so obviously not active until we go on our trip the end of August. Will I be allowed to add her into my reservation party once the reservation system open?
Chris says
I have an existing hotel reservation but my ticket is a Fl resident annual pass holder. Do I need to do link my pass holder ticket to my reservation? Both show up in my Disney App. Also can we use our My Disney App to make the reservations?
Jessica says
Hi! Thank you for all the great info! Do you know if your trip has to be paid in full before you can make a reservation? We are booked for December. Thanks!
Ashley says
So it says guests can purchase new resort packages and tickets but ticket sales will resume later in the summer. I’m confused on who “guests” are I think. Also, we will be taking our 2 year old. I wonder how they will account for capacity if they aren’t counted with tickets.
Lemonia says
Thanks for the update. Do you have any clarity on the following:
1. What does the selected time mean? will there be a grace window?
2. will we be allowed to leave the park for a break and re-enter later in the day?
Andrea says
What time does the reservation system open?
Sarah says
Any idea what “and choose a time for your visit” means? I’ve not read anything that has indicated there would be time frames for entering the park until reading this sentence.
Michele says
Will there still be extra magic hours? Thanks so much
Sarah says
My husband and I are APs but my children are not. We have onsite resort reservations in August that I haven’t bought tickets for my kids yet. I don’t need a package, only tickets for the kids. When I can purchase those and make park reservations?
Emi says
Have they announced what time on the phases dates you can start making reservations?
Chris says
Is there any information as to what time the reservation system opens?
Charity Strowbridge says
Curious what time on the 22nd do you think the system will be available?
River Donehey says
Any idea what time resort guests can begin making park reservations on the 22nd?
Kim S. says
Sorry to be a dunce. I’m an annual passholder without a hotel reservation. If I make a future hotel reservation will a day in the park be included in that reservation or are they separate? Meaning it’s potentially possible to make a hotel reservation, but not be able to get into the park of your choice?
Christie R says
Do you happen to know what time the reservation window will open on June 22?
Haley says
You mentioned we would need to “choose a time” to visit. Does this mean time in the parks will somehow be limited? Or that we won’t be able to leave midday for a break at the hotel and return with the same park reservation we made for the day?
Laura Gonzalez says
Do you know if our reservations will still be linked to our magic bands? If so can we use our magic bands for entry to all parks as before?
Marc says
I have AP vouchers…purchased them a few months ago. Hopefully these count as tickets for later this year as we have DVC ressies. Fingers crossed
Darren says
Hi
We are visiting from the uk at the end of October and have a 21 day ticket. Do you know if we have to book one day at a time save it then book the next day or can they all be booked in one go?
Thanks
Darren
DFB Sarah says
Laura, Disney is expected to continue to sell MagicBands for those who want them, including discounted options for Resort guests.
DFB Sarah says
Haley, that’s up in the air until we actually get to use the system. Unfortunately we don’t know if this means times may be staggered, that you can’t come and go, or if your time will be limited. We will for sure be watching for this info.
lucy England says
Hi team, thank you so much for your content. As an anxious traveller with a dream holiday booked for 9th August from the UK to Florida, with my husband and 2 children, all these changes have been the stuff of nightmares! We booked our trip as a total package and are waiting to see if we will be able to travel (this is dictated by our travel agent in line with all the government stipulations). My fear is
– if we are able to travel and are not granted our tickets (inc Disney park tickets) until 1st July, we run the risk of missing booking opportunities for our travel dates and being unable to visit any of the parks DESPITE having valid tickets. Having paid a LOT for this vacation the idea of being unable to visit parks we have paid to visit is horrible, let alone the 50% of magic which has been stripped from.the experience. Any ideas for over coming early booking anxiety?!
April Rauenhorst says
Who are “other select hotel guests”? Are these guests of Disney springs hotels?
How many days will we be able to reserve at once?
Abby says
Do you have any details regard the time? Will there be a time limit we can be in each park?
Cory Souliere says
Me and my wife have a hotel reservation with tickets in September into October, we can make our park reservations on the 22nd? Also can we do our 2 friends with us that are in our friends and family list?
Haley says
DFB Sarah,
Thanks, hoping that times in the park won’t be limited since they took pakr hopping. It seems like with times for visits park hopping could at some point be accommodated so fingers crossed! We are in the first wave of reservations so I hope there is more info released in the next few days!
DFB Sarah says
Christie, we’re hearing 7AM.
Kekoa says
Are we able to leave the park and re-enter the same park?
DFB Sarah says
Kim, you’re correct that you would need BOTH — a Park Pass reservation in addition to your Resort reservation.
MiMi says
Hello, you state when reserving your park visit you must choose a date, a theme park and a time for your visit.
Does the “time for your visit” mean you will be limited to the time (number of hours) you can stay in a park or is there a “all day” option?
Sue says
I changed my holiday till 17th sept next year till 1st October Disney hotel and tickets what happens after 26th will I still be able to get in the parks with my 14 day ticke
Stephen Camp says
Will you be able to leave the park and come back later? for instance if you arrive at opening can you leave and come back for a dinner reservation?
Megan says
If we have already linked our resort reservation and tickets via the app, when we try to make reservations for each day will it automatically pop up for us to do so?
Jodi says
My nephew and I will be visiting the parks for 6 days while my niece will only be in the parks 3 days. We are all on the hotel reservation. Will I need to make 2 separate park reservations since the members of my party changed?
DFB Sarah says
River, we’ve confirmed 7AM, but Disney can change that at any time/there could be a delay.
DFB Sarah says
Charity, DFB post forthcoming on this — but we’ve confirmed 7AM.
DFB Sarah says
Chris, you’ve probably seen my responses here already, but looks like 7AM barring any changes/delays.
Drew says
Any idea what the “other hotels” are? We are staying at a hotel near Disney Springs that is one of their preferred hotels or whatever it is called that gets all the features the resorts do. Hoping that is what they mean by “other hotels”
DFB Sarah says
Emi, reservations typically opens at 7AM, and this is confirmed for these dates (barring delays/changes).
DFB Sarah says
Stephen, we don’t know this yet. We have it on our list of things to clarify.
MiMi says
I have a reservation package (resort and 7 day park hoppers) for October 10, 2020. Can I make park reservations on June 22? I spoke with a CM today and she stated she was not aware of the date I am able to make park reservations.
DFB Sarah says
Sue, we expect if they’re still using the Park Pass system, they may release dates incrementally. Keep watching for dates and info.
DFB Sarah says
MiMi, we don’t know this yet, but we will look into it when the system goes live.
DFB Sarah says
Kekoa, we don’t know yet.
Kim says
You mentioned, “At this time, (park) reservations will be available through September 26th, 2021.” What happens if we have resort reservations as well as tickets for early November? If they start selling new dated tickets later this summer, will we be able to make park reservations before new tickets are sold?
DFB Sarah says
Haley, good luck!
