Earlier today, we learned about a MAJOR update coming to select Disney World table service restaurants. A brand-new Mobile Order feature launched on My Disney Experience called Table Service To Go, which as the name implies offering diners the opportunity to order table service food TO GO.
When we investigated further, it appeared that Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is currently the only location offering this service. We ventured over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to test this new Mobile Order experience out for ourselves (spoiler alert: we 100% order the Bread Service).
When we reported on the brand-new Table Service To Go this morning, we noted that most of Sanaa’s regular menu was available to order. On our visit this afternoon, however, we learned that there are certain times you need to visit in order to have access to that full menu!
On our visit, we learned that most of Table Service To Go at Sanaa is NOT available between the hours of 2:00-5:00PM. However, during these hours, there is still a limited menu available, which does include Bread Service as well as drinks at the bar! We were given a small menu to look at that had the items available to order between 2:00 and 5:00.
We happened to visit Sanaa during this period of time where there was no cooking staff available, but it was great to hear that Bread Service was still available. When we ordered, we were actually given a later return time (since technically it’s not available between 2 PM and 5PM).
The Cast Members then told us that since we were ordering items that were already available, that we could cancel our original order and they would ring us up right then and there.
The big lesson here is that if you want the FULL Sanaa To Go menu, be sure to get an arrival window of BEFORE 2:00PM or AFTER 5:00PM! Also keep in mind that during normal hours, To Go orders are typically brought to the front desk, but between 2:00PM and 5:00PM, you will be likely be directed to the bar to order from the limited menu.
In the end, however, we were still able to be reunited with our beloved Bread Service!Â
And, of course, we scored ALL of the delicious dipping sauces on the side!
We also ordered the African Triple-Chocolate Mousse, which isn’t normally available during that 2:00-5:00 window, but they happened to have a few extra on hand!
Overall, this is an AWESOME new way to enjoy some of the best Disney World dining!Â
Even with the limited menu in the afternoon, it was really neat to be able to stroll outside with a bag full of delicious Bread Service!
Hopefully, we’ll see this service rolled out to more table service restaurants soon!

Were you staying at the hotel or
Just took to eat outside (I know you’re testing for all of us but just wondering)? Seems like a really good option to not have to do room service.
DFB Sarah says
Rob, we took a bus from Disney Springs to the Resort for our Sanaa lunch using Table Service To Go.
Maria says
Was there a fun place at AKL to sit and eat your to-go food?
DFB Sarah says
Maria, you can take your food to the overlooks and find a seat where you can enjoy the atmosphere and views of the savanna. Or find a cozy spot in the lobby to sit and relax. As long as you are physically distanced and seated to eat, you should be okay to do that.
Mel says
I see you took the bus there. Given the covid restrictions limiting non-resort guests from coming to the resorts… if you drive to AKL will they let you park to pick up your to-go order and eat somewhere at the resort? I know they will if you have a table reservation, wondering if it’s the same for to-go? Would love to explore the resort and have the bread service but a little worried about eating inside.
DFB Sarah says
Hi, Mel. The policy is that you must have an ADR (as you mentioned) or a Resort reservation to get through security. But if you show them a confirmed Mobile Order, you should be able to drive in and park.
B says
Placed a mobile order and showed the confirmed return time (with the screen that my order was being prepared) to the guard. I was denied access into the hotel, and told that this service is only for resort guests. Now spending hours trying to contact Disney to get my card refunded – needless to say it was a great way to ruin a birthday dinner I was very excited to eat! Looks like the bus is the safer way to hopefully be able to pick up your food.
DFB Sarah says
B, that sounds frustrating (to say the least). I hope you were able to salvage your day.
Daphne Martin says
So you don’t need to make a reservation to use this? I can just order from Kona Cafe that morning?
