Some of these remakes have been popular and received lots of praise from critics and fans, while others haven’t been as well-received. Either way, Disney continues to develop more live-action films based on some of their most iconic cartoon characters. One of the films in the works is a live-action version of Pinocchio, and today we got some important news — it’s coming straight to Disney+!
A while back, we heard that Tom Hanks was the favorite to play Geppetto in the new adaptation, and that made us pretty excited to get more news on the development of this film. Today, we FINALLY got our wish!
Tom Hanks will OFFICIALLY star in the live-action Pinocchio, which will be directed by Robert Zemeckis.
That’s a PRETTY good combo, if you ask us. The two previously worked together on the Oscar-winning classic Forrest Gump as well as Cast Away and The Polar Express. Zemeckis’s other credits include 2020’s The Witches, Back to the Future, and Welcome to Marwen.
