It’s an exciting day for Star Wars fans on the West Coast!
After opening in fall 2020 in Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney, Star Wars Trading Post closed just a few months later to be relocated. We’ve kept an eye on the construction and eagerly awaited its opening, and now the day is here!
Star Wars Trading Post will sell Galaxy’s Edge merchandise in an Imagineer-designed building. The story? Guests are shopping in a hidden Resistance jungle base! Of course, we had to go take a look for ourselves.
The theming in here is really amazing — we truly felt like we were at a Rebel base!
We spotted so many hidden details that Star Wars fans will love to search for, including what looks like Luke and Poe’s helmets, a temple guard mask, and a skull that looks an awful lot like General Grievous from Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
And the merchandise was just as cool! We spotted a TON of Star Wars plushes around, including this stinkin’ adorable Porg hiding in a tree.
And if it’s been a while since you’ve traveled to the planet Batuu, then you can pick up all your local merchandise in this shop. Mugs, blankets, hats, tees…they’ve got everything!
We also spotted a line of products specific to the Droid Depot…
…including droid parts and droids themselves!
There’s a lot of merch here that hasn’t been available since the closure, which is really exciting!
And if you have been hoping to get your hands on the Paddy Frog Sipper — you’re in luck! It’s also available at the Star Wars Trading Post.
A little surprise hides INSIDE this sipper.
Take a closer look at the Paddy Frog Sipper here.Â
And what’s a Star Wars store without some lightsabers? Here are all the legacy lightsabers we saw on display. The lightsaber process works like it did at WonderGround. You take a number when you enter the store and Cast Members will call you up when it’s your turn.
And if you’re a fan of the over-the-top Galaxy’s Edge Batuuan Spira gift cards, they have one here too.
You can actually purchase the gift card before entering the store. When you check-in for your reservation at the ESPN shop, you can pick up a gift card, then walk over and into the trading post!
And or the moment we have been waiting for…we even spotted something that fans of The Mandalorian will recognize. It’s Baby Yoda’s pram!
We had a great time exploring this store, and we can’t wait to come back and check out more galactic merchandise and search for more hidden details.
Star Wars Trading Post’s old location replaced WonderGround Gallery, so we’re excited to see that shop reopen today, too! We’ll be back with more Disney news and updates, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB.

Randi Briggs says
We live in California, but can’t always make the nine hour drive to get to Disneyland. Do you know if it is possible to call someone there at the store and order things that are in the store? The t-shirts shown in the picture above are what I want, but am trying to figure out how to get them. Do you know?
DFB Sarah says
Randi, you could try calling the store. Otherwise, you may find them posted for resale online.
Tiffany Ward says
Saw the light sabers on sale in the new store but are they still doing the build your own light saber and Droid currently?
DFB Sarah says
Tiffany, they are both open and available to reservations.
