After over one year of being closed, guests will be able to return to Disneyland next month. With the reopening comes some operational changes such as the addition of a theme park reservation system and the omission of several offerings. But, the reopening will also bring us a chance to experience a REIMAGINED iconic attraction!
Prior to the closure of Disneyland, Imagineers were working on a reimagining of Snow White’s Scary Adventures, an opening day attraction in Fantasyland. The attraction has been renamed Snow White’s Enchanted Wish and we’ll get to ride it when the park reopens!
When we get to experience this reworked attraction on April 30th, we’ll spot that many elements of the attraction are still there but other elements and scenes have been added. For one, a new dancing Snow White animatronic and the wafting smell of pie have been added to the dwarfs scene.
Guests will also spot new shadow projections as the dwarfs march off to the mines singing “Heigh-Ho.” That sounds a LOT like what you can see in Disney World on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. In the mines, you’ll spot new lighting, glittering jewels, and shimmering effects. Finally, guests will travel through the Evil Queen’s den towards the magic mirror and, in the end, get to see Snow White and the Prince ride off into the sunset.
We are VERY excited to see the new version of this attraction when it opens in April, but we’re excited to be reunited with other attractions. In the reopening announcement, Disney said, “Classic and favorite attractions will begin to open at both parks…plus new magic is coming to Haunted Mansion.”
You might remember that the Haunted Mansion had been closed for a while prior to the Disneyland park closures. The work is to give the ride some touch-ups to its mechanics, interiors, and exteriors. Disney hasn’t released details on what exactly this means or when the attraction will open, but we hope to be riding alongside the grim grinning ghosts soon enough.
Overall, there will be a LOT to see in a reopened Disneyland with everything from new protocols to an updated attraction. Stay tuned to DFB in the coming weeks as we take you through all the details.
