UPDATE: Disneyland tickets are officially on sale!
If you’ve been itching to buy Disneyland tickets, today is the big day!
While those with existing tickets were able to make Park Pass reservations earlier this week, the majority of people are doing all that today. We’ve already brought you ALL our best tips and tricks for snagging tickets and a Park Pass reservation, to avoid as many bumps in the road as possible. But if you’re trying to buy tickets right now, you may notice a very familiar issue.
Yup, the dreaded waiting room is back! Guests trying to purchase Disneyland tickets this morning are encountering that Big Thunder Mountain loading page as they wait to enter the virtual queue. Now, ticket sales will begin no earlier than 8AM PT today. But as we predicted, the waiting room opened a bit earlier, so your best strategy is to claim your spot now!
Of course, we’re no strangers to this whole waiting room/virtual queue thing: we dealt with the same process when buying tickets for A Touch of Disney and again (but on a smaller scale) when making Park Pass reservations for Disneyland as existing ticket holders. And today, we’re gonna give you the same advice as always: pour a cup of coffee and hang tight!
Reservations for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa open up today, too! If you’re trying to book, you’ll notice that there’s a waiting room there as well.
In both cases, we’re expecting to head into a virtual queue with a posted wait time next — although that wait time seems super subject to change. We’ll keep you posted as the ticket-buying process moves along so you know exactly what to expect. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disneyland reopening news!

2 1/2 hours on the wait time is almost over screen with approximate wait : more than an hour. Been on this screen since 8a.m.

We’ve been sitting in the queue since it launched and still are showing “more than an hour”. Tried to open difference browsers, on the phone/tablet, and still nada. Are there any other tricks to this?

Waited in the queue for three hours this morning, only to have continuous problems when I put the tickets in my “cart” on the website. After trying for 25 minutes with the page just taking me over and over to my cart and then finally receiving a “this URL doesn’t exist” message, suddenly my cart was emptied and when trying to re-add tickets I was put back in the queue. Phone support is nonexistent, you receive a busy signal if you try to call.

I’ve gotten through the queue after waiting 3 hours. Once in, I finally got to choose my tickets. When I go to pay, it says I’m not sign in. When I try to sign in, it says it can’t find my account. Finally it lets me sign in with the same credentials I’ve been trying for a half hour with and it doubles my order. I update my cart and it goes to a page that says, “cart is Empty”.
I go back, choose my tickets again, go to pay and it logs me out again! I’m on my 9th attempt. Also, I have another queue open and it’s stuck on “Recalculating” the wait time. This is crazy.

Been in the virtual queue since 8am! now 5pm.. is it really working? Now it says could go all night! Can’t believe it would take this long.

So I waited 11 hours, finally got through the countdown and opened to the ticket page and nothing, there is link to check the calendar, which opens another window, when I go back to the other window there is still nothing to click and no options to buy or add to a cart. I can purchase a parking pass, but nothing under tickets. I wonder if anyone else had this issue, or if it is a safari browser issue
Brendan says
update on my issue, it was for some reason my phone safari browser, several hours later (130am) i hear my ipad ding and i was able to get my tickets, sheesh.
Faviola Toscano says
Do you have to stay on the screen as you wait???
DFB Gigi says
Hi Faviola, that’s a great question! Yes, you will need to stay on the waiting room screen while you are waiting or you risk losing your place in the Virtual Queue to get through to the website.
