Cast Members are often the reason your Disney vacation can be so magical!
They are vital to making the Disney Parks and Resorts operate smoothly and successfully. Around the time of the pandemic, many Cast Members were hit hard by the closures around the world and the massive furloughs and layoffs Disney made in 2020. Now that many parks are back up and operating, Cast Members deserve our appreciation more than ever!
Here are the best ways to tell Cast Members you appreciate them:
Say Thank You
This may seem like an obvious one, but it can really make an impact! Telling a Cast Member thank you after they help you with something can make their day. Take the time to genuinely thank them for working to make Disney so magical.
If a Cast Member goes out of their way for you or simply hands you a Mickey pretzel, thank them for being there right now to help make your experience a great one!
Thank Them With A Card
To take a thank you a step further, you can bring small cards to give to Cast Members while you’re on property! A little card with a token of your gratitude inside is the perfect way to make a Cast Member feel appreciated.
Write them a handwritten note thanking them for your experience!
Leave A Tip!
Some Cast Members are allowed to accept tips, while others are not. You ARE allowed to tip Bell Services, Housekeeping, Car Valets, Bartenders, Wait staff at full-service restaurants, Spa Staff, and Room Service Staff. If you have an enjoyable experience, you may want to consider tipping these Cast Members!
Many times they are going out of their way to give you exceptional service, so they deserve to be appreciated as well!

Write A Personalized Note
Similar to a card, but if you’re staying on Disney property, it only takes a second to write a small message on a notepad to give to Cast Members.
Leave it in your room along with a tip for your housekeepers, wrap it around a tip to give to bell services or car valets, and even write a small note on the receipt you leave for your servers or bartenders!
Give A #CastCompliment
Another great way to show your appreciation is to give a #CastCompliment on social media! Simply note the Cast Member’s name, where they’re from (which is written on their name tag), and where they helped you and post on social media with the hashtag #CastCompliment!
Make sure to also tag an official Disney account like @WaltDisneyWorld or @Disneyland so it has a better chance of being seen by the company! You can also give a compliment to a Cast Member by visiting Guest Services and leaving a note about the person you want to recognize!Â
You can now use the app to leave your compliment and even put in their name and hometown so they can be easily identified.

Send An Email Or Letter
If you don’t want to physically go to Guest Relations or maybe you forgot to compliment the Cast Member until you got home, you can also write Disney to give your compliment! You can send an email to Guest Communications at Walt Disney World at: [email protected] or send a letter to:
Walt Disney World Guest Communications
PO Box 10040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040
Make sure you include the Cast Member’s name and hometown, a description of how they impacted you, and where or when it happened! These compliments go into that Cast Member’s file and can be very beneficial to them when Disney is looking at promotions!
Be Nice!
This should go without saying, but most importantly, please be nice to Cast Members! Simply being friendly and thoughtful when interacting with Cast Members can help turn their day around, especially if they’ve had to deal with some not-so-nice guests!
Make sure to politely listen to what Cast Members ask you to do as they are just trying to do their job and make your day magical!
Cast Members help make our dreams come true, so we should try and make them feel as appreciated as possible! Using any of these ways to say thank you is sure to make a Cast Member’s day a good one, so try them out!

You can also ask for a 4 keys card to turn in to the management. The 4 keys cards can then be used for special drawings and perks from the company.
Also a personal letter written on behalf of a cast member will get them special recognition in front of their peers if given to management.

Sixteen years ago, when our boys were four and visiting WDW for the first time, we taught them to kiss the hands of princesses and, well, it kinda got out of hand. Servers and hosts and all kinds of ladies got their hands kissed and they LOVED it. We have so many pictures of them doing it. Although it isn’t possible right now, there are always ways of making other peoples’ lives a bit more special.
And seriously, we should all be saying thank you to everyone who does anything for us–all the time and not just at WDW.

Cast members are so awesome, they really do go out of their way to make your day magical. I have been blessed with so many magical memories . One day I got an extra ride because I was laughing and enjoying the moment at a time of day when a lot of people were tired and grouchy. They said I made their day, but they totally made mine.

I love trading pins. On one trip I saw a set of Muppet pins on guests and CM’s lanyards and managed to trade for two, but still needed the other six. At the American Adventure in Epcot I asked to see CM’s lanyards and they asked what I was looking for so I told them. They called to other CMs in close by countries and by the time I left the American Adventure, I had the entire set of Muppet pins without even trading. They gifted the pins to me! I couldn’t thank them enough!!!!

We were at Disney, Epcot to be exact, on Christmas 2019, and we gave Christmas cards out to random cast members. I can’t tell you how surprised and thankful they all were to get a card. Some asked why, and we simply told them thank you for making our Christmas special.

This is such a great article! Thank you DFB for all of those ideas and helpful info. On our last trip I brought small, handmade thank you cards to give to everyone who gave us service. It made me feel as good to give them, as they felt to receive them.

Hello! Do you know by any chance the email for the Disneyland cast members ? I have been looking for it but couldn’t find it. Thank you so much in advance !
DFB Sarah says
Julia, I don’t see an email for thanking Disneyland CMs, unfortunately. It looks like you can #CastCompliment and tag @DisneylandToday on Twitter to leave a compliment digitally.

I just wanted to mention a situation we had dealing with a couple of cast members. We have officially given them a big thanks officially to Disney. I have a scooter that is my own, not a Disney rented scooter. I had just purchased this scooter but obviously someone didn’t tighten a couple bolts together correctly. I drove my scooter up to where you leave the scooter when riding the slinky ride, when I got out of the ride, I noticed by scooter had not been moved to where it would normally be sitting. I went over to where I left it and there it sat with both front wheels laying on the ground. One piece of the scooter on the front keeps those two wheels attached had a large bolt come loose and the mechanism with both wheels on it fell off. Being a new scooter, you can imagine I was pretty upset. This particular scooter folds up and you can roll it on its back wheels like a suitcase, with some effort. So here I am, I have a bad back and I have no idea what to do because I do not believe my back would allow me to roll it back to the parks exit. The supervisor of the ride & one other young cast member helped me look for the part that fell off and we couldn’t find it. So, the supervisor filled out a piece of paper for me to take the area where they rent out Disney scooters to get one of their scooters, I didn’t ask at all for it. It allowed me to get a scooter to use the rest of the day & Disney didn’t even charge me for the scooter. Very nice of them to do that. Secondly, a young energetic young lady cast member rolled my scooter back to the area where you rent scooters and they stored my computer there for me while I enjoyed the rest of the day. We made sure we wrote their names down and we thanked Disney for their efforts giving them all the thanks in the world. Although this was a real issue for me Disney sure helped me make the best of a bad situation, and they didn’t have to do it. Kudos to all of them! Getting it back on the plane to come home is another whole story! ha! But, I have the scooter fixed now!

I’m so glad it worked out, Jerry!
