I am anxious to see what the Steakhouse 71 menu looks like. It was very disappointing years ago when the Concourse Steakhouse closed. The WAVE just didn’t cut it, menu not that enticing and the spacing of tables was way too close. Only went once to the Wave because of menu but more importantly the table spacing.

Wow. The Wave was my favorite restaurant. With no Fastpass and eateries wanting the bucks, time to reconsider my annual pass. Disney is about cash, cash, cash. Over it!

Loved the Steakhouse 55 in DL, hoping that Steakhouse 71 lasts longer.
Also wish I could understand Disney’s logic closing down the DL location and opening a new one in FL (maybe too many vegans in CA)?

That’s a big bummer 👎. The Wave was one of my favorite resort restaurants that was both easy to get to and easy to get reservations for. It was also delicious! As if Disney World needs Yet Another Steakhouse…

Great News. Always thought the Wave was just an ordinary hotel restaurant. This sounds like a big improvement.

I’m sad it looks like they’re opening another restaurant that they can charge more money for. I loved the breakfast at the wave we went there several times every trip it’s nice to have something that’s reasonable I guess we will see

Every trip to Disney included dining at the Wave for us. There was always variety of different dishes (beef, pork, chicken, fish, and vegetarian options) to choose from. The Wave was one of the places that my diabetic husband could count on for dessert because they offered a no-sugar added creme brulee was excellent. So what do we think about the Wave being be replaced with a steakhouse? It will depend entirely on the menu. A steakhouse sounds so ordinary but it is matter of waiting to see what the menu looks like. Will the menu have lots of different choices of main course types or will it be the typical steakhouse where there are few or no pork, chicken, fish and vegetarian options? Will they still offer a no-sugar added dessert option? If the menu will be so beef-focused that non-red meat options are limited to one or two, and a no-sugar added dessert option is not available that is as good as the creme brulee was at the Wave, then the answer is, No, we won’t be going to the new restaurant.

Closing the Wave is Great news… I never cared for it. Now..maybe Disney will search its roots to bring back the simple great food that was always enjoyed at the Steakhouse that was located on the 4th floor next to the elevators and before Chef’ Mickeys. This simple unassuming restaurant drew my family there many times no matter where we were staying on the Monorail like and even the Wilderness lodge. The “Sticky Mickey” was awesome, and on our breakfast table at every visit, and back in the 1990’s, the Steakhouse was one of the very few dining locations that served eggs Benedict which was a personal favorite with asparagus side. One can only hope that they bring back some of these long lost but never forgotten treats. I am praying that they do not screw up the menu and make it guest friendly and fun…

From my point of view this is a shame. The Wave is/was a fine restaurant with a variety of offerings. As I have no interest in steak, it’s not clear that I will find its replacement of interest (aside from the chocolate cake….).

Here’s hoping WDW enjoys the spoils taken from the closure of Steakhouse 55 in Disneyland. That cake is straight off the menu.

So long bottomless mimosas…and the Tilamook cheese grits…a piece of my heart just broke a little…so many brunches, lunches, and dinners I have enjoyed with family and friends…

Sad to see The Wave go. Went there once and my family and I really enjoyed it. We were going to make it our go to place once we arrived to Bay Lake Towers😥
Greg And Cathy says
The Wave is always on our must do list.. and Victor is our waiter of choice. So, we’re hoping that Steakhouse 71 is a hit, and Victor is still there when we return to celebrate our 50th Anniversary in December 2022.
