Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to some of Disney World’s biggest rides, like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Tower of Terror.
We got some big news today about the virtual queue at Rise of the Resistance and how you can still skip the line with Disney’s new system. But what else is new at Hollywood Studios this week? Let’s find out!
Today, we’ve got some updates with new merchandise at Hollywood Studios, as well as a few changes to decorations and ride entrances around the park.
Hollywood Studios Merchandise Update
At Keystone Clothiers, we found a new Captain America Soldier figurine.
The figure is a poseable collectible that comes with accessories…
…like Cap’s shield and different uniform replacements.
If you’re a Marvel collector (or just really love Captain America — no argument here), you can head to Keystone Clothiers to buy this new figure for $99.99.
Hollywood Studios Construction Update
One of the biggest changes at Hollywood Studios is the new golden character statues for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
In Hollywood Studios, we found statues for Edna Mode, Frozone…
…R2-D2 and BB-8…
…Joe Gardner from Pixar’s Soul…
…Flounder and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid…
…and Woody and Bo Peep!

On our way down Sunset Boulevard, we took a closer look at the 50th Anniversary banners in Hollywood Studios.
The 50th banners in Animal Kingdom got a green tint to match the park, and the Hollywood Studios ones seem to have some extra glitz and glitter to match the Hollywood theme! While we were on Sunset Boulevard, we stopped by Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to check out the ride’s new Lightning Lane sign.
We’ve spotted Lightning Lane signs at several rides around Disney World lately, which is surely a sign that the new Genie+ and Pay-Per-Ride system is going to start soon. So far, Disney has only said that it will begin in the Fall of 2021.
On our way back, we saw a Cast Member creating a design on the pavement using water and a broom!
Of course we stopped to admire the artistry.
Now let’s see what crowd levels were like around Hollywood Studios.
Hollywood Studios Crowds Update
The entrance for Hollywood Studios was pretty crowded, with long lines to get inside the park.
We’ve been seeing wait times increase as well, with Tower of Terror at a 60-minute wait…
…and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 40 minutes.
That’s it for our Hollywood Studios update! Keep following DFB for more news about what’s going on in the Disney World parks.
