Hispanic Latinx Heritage Month

Disney’s celebration is called “Together We Are Magia” and runs from September 15th through October 15th. There are a ton of ways to celebrate around the resort, like eating a meal by an award-winning chef currently featured at the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT or trying special food items in Disney Springs! And today, we found a new snack for Hispanic Latinx Heritage Month in Disney World!

This is the Colombian Hot Dog! It’s an all-beef quarter-pound hot dog topped with cabbage slaw, garlic-cilantro, mayo-ketchup, pineapple mustard, and potato sticks on a brioche butter bun served with a side of pickled vegetables for $11.49.

Colombian Hot Dogs are a popular street food in Colombia and are known for their wide variety of toppings, from pink sauce to quail eggs! They can vary in style, but they typically have pineapple, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and crushed potato chips, like the one we found today.

This hot dog is from Fairfax Fare in Hollywood Studios and is not on the mobile order menu, so you need to order it up at the counter if you want to try it!

YUM!

The hot dog is super juicy and tender! The bread was also really soft, fresh, and buttery (exactly how bread should be!).

That bread is a game changer

There is a strong pineapple flavor overall, which gives it a nice tang, but if you’re not a fan of pineapple, this may be too much for you! And, while there is mayo-ketchup on the dog, it’s not too much mayo, thankfully!

The slaw, along with the potato sticks, added a nice crunch to the hot dog and wasn’t overly sauced.

We didn’t really taste any garlic, but we DID taste the spice. Oh boy, is this thing spicy!

Get ready for the heat

The pickled veggies on the side were just okay. They were really spicy as well, but besides that, there wasn’t much other flavor. And despite being pickled, they were pretty dry.

Meh.

So, if you love spicy food, this hot dog is definitely for you! But, if you can’t handle spice — STEER CLEAR! Your tongue will be burning. We’ll be on the lookout for more new food items for Hispanic Latinx Heritage Month in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
