Universal Epic Universe opened just one year ago, and plans for its expansion are already underway!

We knew that the park had been built with room to add on new lands or attractions in the future, but recently, we’ve been seeing more proof of additions coming. Construction has been taking place on some of the park’s expansion pads, but now, a permit has been filed for a new attraction!

A permit was filed on April 28th, 2026 for a site work at Epic Universe. It’s classified as a “special project” and expires on November 6th, 2026. The permit itself is fairly vague about what work would be done, but as you dig deeper, there’s an important detail hidden.

After the initial submission, the permit was reviewed and comments were made. One of those comments requested clarification about the location of the construction work. In these follow-up notes, it’s confirmed that the project will take place in building 1570.

Do you know what’s interesting about building 1570? Well, the 1500 buildings are all located in Dark Universe. This permit is part of project 680 which is a new attraction planned for the park. So put all that together…does this mean we’re getting a NEW attraction in Dark Universe? We think so!

Currently, Darkmoor has two attractions — Curse of the Werewolf and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. It would be very exciting to get another new ride or offering in this land, as it has become a fan favorite since the opening of the park.
