For quite a while now, we’ve been sharing updates on the Brightline train that’s coming to Central Florida!

Eventually, the train will have a station at Disney Springs and will feature a line directly from the Orlando Airport. But first, Brightline is constructing the other railway lines, and recently the first train that will service Central Florida has arrived!
According to Click Orlando, the trainset for the extension of the South Florida line was towed “from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach down the East Coast Rail Line parallel to U.S.-1.” This took place on Thursday night, and those living on the Space Coast could potentially hear the train being pulled.

Since the addition of the Brightline train in South Florida, the transportation method has been relatively popular and it’s expected to be even more so when the line to Orlando is completed next year. One-way tickets for the three-hour trip from Miami to the Orlando airport are going to be priced at around $100. Once the Orlando stop is complete, Brightline will move on and construct the stations at Disney World and in Tampa.

It depends on the price and how convenient the train will be. Hard to beat the Magical Express!
So, the new Mears thing is $200 for a family of 4 round trip for a direct shuttle to your hotel, and they handle your luggage. I have a hard time imagining that the train is going to beat that.
Brightline runs across from my community in Palm Beach. Actually, they haven’t reopened for service yet.. maybe November. It’s not very well liked down here.
Let’s see $100 for the train for one person one way? I have 3 people in my family so $600 round trip from Miami. I can drive up from Miami, even with gas prices the way they are for $130 round trip plus have my car there just in case I want to go anywhere else. I don’t think we will be taking that train to Orlando.
Do not see how this replaces the magical express. We would have to take our luggage by ourselves to the train, then go to Disney Springs then get to our resort with our luggage. How does that even make any sense especially for older people.
This is rather disappointing in that the train was originally supposed to be high speed and by car from
Orlando to Miami is 3 hr 11 mi And cost is ridiculous. Should be half that.

I would prefer taking a bus from MCO directly to my Resort. Hopefully they keep the replacement bus as an option.
To take a train to Disney Springs, we would still have to get to our resort. What is the plan now? Board a bus?! This Will Just make a long, stressful day even longer and more stressful. Hours earlier, started at home, most likely with kids and gear in tow, travel to airport, flight, retrieve luggage at Orlando, board a train (with luggage, kids and gear), get off train at Disney Springs (with luggage, kids, gear), (with luggage, kids, gear), what now? Board a Resort Bus ( with luggage, kids, gear)? Sounds like a lot of stress and crabby kids

I really don’t see the value for a Disney visitor at the airport taking this train. Now that Magic Express is cancelled (Boo, Disney!), most people will need to take a $50 shared car to their resort/hotel. Opting for this train however, will mean you load your luggage at the airport’s train station, take the train to Disney Springs, then take a shared car to your resort/hotel. Why use this train service as a middle man? What am I missing?
Would I take the train? No, because it to much of a hassle to get to the hotel. First the train goes to Disney Springs carrying your luggage then you need to find the right Disney bus to the hotel , that’s just going, what about getting back to the airport ?
I can’t imagine taking a train and then being at Disney springs and then figuring out getting to the hotel. Nope. I will Uber or rent a car.
Can you offer better rates or discounts for FL residents , teachers and UCF students ?
I will never use the train. It will be very inconvenient and will add three or four hours to the trip to my resort in WDW. Why the plan is for the train to only go to Disney Springs is just dumb.
Disney need to reestablish the Magical Express Service including luggage handling or neither me, my direct family or my friends or business employees will just stop going to WDW. The equates to over 200 potential park guests and their families.
Over the years, I have held several seminars at WDW and this will be ending.
Hooper, I what’s missing is confirmation and specifics from Brightline and/or Disney World. Specifics could help alleviate a lot of concerns (or confirm a lot of concerns). At this point, it seems to be a waiting game.
Brightline has a last few miles service so you can book a private car or transport from the station to your final stop. I would imagine that’s a scheme that Disney and BLF would enact.
