SURGE Pricing Has Arrived for Genie+ Pay-Per-Ride Selections in Disneyland

Disney Genie+ has officially debuted in Disneyland.

Though it had a bit of a rocky start, it is now available for guests to use. We’ve already shared a look at the cost of Genie+ and the cost for Individual Attraction Selections (Pay-Per-Ride) in Disneyland, but now we’ve got a bit of an update.

When Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection (Pay-Per-Ride) launched on December 8th, these were the pay-per-ride prices:

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — $20 per person
Radiator Springs Racers — $7 per person
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure — $7 per person

Disney has noted, however, that in both Disneyland and Disney World, the prices for these pay-per-ride are subject to change based on the day and the attraction.

Now, as we approach the first weekend of Genie+ in Disneyland (Fridays count as the “weekend” right?), the prices for some of these selections have INCREASED. Here’s a look at the prices we saw for them today (December 10th):

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — $20 per person (no increase)

Radiator Springs Racers — $12 per person (increase of $5)

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure — $12 per person (increase of $5)

This is similar to what occurred in Disney World, where the prices increased ahead of the weekend for select pay-per-ride selections. But the increase in price was less at Disney World. The rides generally increased by $2-3. In Disneyland, we’re seeing larger increases, with those jumps of $5.

If you’re planning on visiting Disneyland today, you’ll want to be prepared for this increase in price. We expect the increased costs will stick around throughout the weekend, but things are subject to change. And keep in mind that the prices could change again in the future.
