With the 50th Anniversary of Disney World going on right now, there are a LOT of changes happening in the parks! New attractions like TRON: Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are on the way, but there are also plenty of big refurbishments going on too.
Today, another refurbishment starts in Magic Kingdom, but don’t worry — it’s just a short one!
Splash Mountain in Disney World is now closed for routine maintenance.
It will be closed starting today, January 10th, through February 10th, 2022.
And, when we went by this morning, the water was mostly drained from the ride track.

There are also walls up all around the ride.
There were Cast Members out front with the ring toss we’ve seen at other closed rides, like Expedition Everest.
We can’t wait until you’re back, Splash!
There’s still no word about when Splash Mountain’s major re-theming into a The Princess and the Frog attraction will take place. However, we do know that this project will reportedly take a significantly long time to complete.
Meanwhile, Expedition Everest remains closed for its months-long refurbishment through the first quarter of the year.
We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news, so stay tuned here for more!
