It’s Star Wars Celebration time, and there’s a LOT happening that we need to share!

The MASSIVE fan event is taking place this weekend in Anaheim, and there are panels, meet-and-greets, special merchandise drops, and tons of announcements about upcoming projects. So if you’re not there and you want to know what’s going on, we’ll be updating this post throughout the weekend to share all the big announcements!

Andor Trailer

First up, we got the trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series, Andor. It’s based on the character Cassian Andor from Rogue One and will begin streaming on August 31st!

They also revealed that twelve episodes have already been filmed and that the show will be set five years before the events of Rogue One. We can’t wait to check it out!

The Mandalorian Season 3 Updates

For the third season of the hit show, The Mandalorian, Katee Sackhoff revealed that she will be returning to play Bo-Katan Kryze and that the characters will be traveling to Mandalore so that Bo-Katan can be “forgiven for her transgressions.” Interesting!

It was also announced that this season will premiere in February 2023. Both Grogu and Din Djarin (the Mandalorian himself) will be back on the screen for the upcoming episodes! We’ll be counting down the days until we can see our little green friend again. (And until Baby Yoda/Grogu merchandise takes over the shelves all over again!)

Skeleton Crew 

We’d already heard some news about a Star Wars show starring children, but now we’ve got a title and more details! Coming soon is Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law and executive produced by Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

It will stream on Disney+ in 2023 and will feature a group of children, about 10 years old, who get swept up in the Star Wars galaxy. But while the show may star children, Star Wars says it’s not necessarily FOR children. We’re interested to learn more about this project in the future — it will be set in the same time period as The Mandalorian.

Willow Trailer

And in other Lucasfilm news, we’ve got the new trailer for Willow, the sequel series to the 1988 movie of the same name (which was produced by George Lucas himself). It will begin streaming on Disney+ on November 30th, 2022.

The movie’s original star, Warwick Davis, will be returning for this sequel project. Bring on the 80s nostalgia!

Ashley Eckstein Would Love a Cameo

If you’re a big Ahsoka Tano fan, then you likely know the name Ashley Eckstein. Ashley voiced Ahsoka in the animated shows and movies, but then passed the role to Rosario Dawson, who appeared as Ahsoka in live-action in The Mandalorian. On night one of Star Wars Celebration, Ashley took to the stage to talk about her role in Star Wars.

During her time on stage, she mentioned that it would be a dream to have a cameo in the upcoming Ahsoka series for Disney+ and that she would love to get the chance to meet Rosario and talk with her. It’s not official news, but it’s definitely something that would be cool to see in the future! Fingers crossed that it happens!

LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation 

A new LEGO Star Wars special is coming to Disney+ this summer! LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation will be streaming on Disney+ on August 5th!

The special will follow Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and Chewbacca as they take a much needed vacation after defeating Palpatine! We can’t wait to see this special when it comes out! It’ll join the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales specials on Disney+!

Young Jedi Adventures

Another Star Wars show was announced at Star Wars Celebrationn! Young Jedi Adventures is an animated series set during the High Republic period that will show the adventures of Jedi younglings as they learn the ways of the force!

The new anthology of animated shorts, Tales of the Jedi is headed to Disney+ soon! Each short will showcase a story featuring Jedi from before the prequel trilogy.

Disney Announces Second Season for Star Wars: Visions

A second season (or as Disney calls it, a “volume”) for the anime-inspired Star Wars: Visions is headed to Disney+ soon.

Fans will be able to stream the second season on Disney+ in Spring 2023.

They also announced a few giveaways! If you collect Star Wars Funko figures, then you can show off your collection for the chance to win a trip to New York City to see the Grogu Funko Pop! Balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

New Star Tours Scenes

New scenes could be coming to Star Tours, the Star Wars themed flight simulator in Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Yesterday, Matt Martin said, ““One of the great things about this format is Star Wars storytelling is continuing to grow and expand, and Star Tours is one of those great experiences that can grow and expand along with the storytelling as we go to new places and meet new characters and have new adventures.”

We don’t know too much else about what is to come for Star Tours, but we’re so excited to see that ride continue to grow with Star Wars!

New Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise

There’s a bunch of new merchandise coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Let’s start with the new lightsabers we can expect to see! Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber will be available at Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities and online on May 31st!

Darth Sidious and Plo Koon are also getting legacy lightsabers that will be available at Dok Ondar’s! Here’s Darth Sidious…

If you’ve ever wanted a Star Wars themed way to protect your valuables, then look no further! Camtonos will be available at Dok Ondar’s soon! They come filled with Imperial, Republic, and Mandalorian credits!

If you’re more into the sequel trilogy, then be on the lookout for this Rey doll that’s coming to Toydarian Toymaker!

DJ R3X Playlist

If you love Oga’s Cantina, the Star Wars themed bar in Galaxy’s Edge, then you’re gonna love this! A playlist of DJ R3X’s songs that he plays at Oga’s is coming soon. 

We’ll keep you updated when we know more about the playlist, but we can’t wait to bump the same tunes as DJ R3X does in out own homes!

Baby Yoda, Boba Fett, and More Coming to Galaxy’s Edge

One of the biggest announcements we’ve seen so far is that Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, the Mandalorian, and Grogu will all be appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland! Boba Fett and Fennec Shand will be meeting starting on May 28th!

Camtono Drink Delivery on the Disney Wish

The Disney Wish, the newest cruise ship in the Disney Cruise Line, is setting sail for the first time this summer! On board, you can experience a Star Wars themed bar called the Hyperspace Lounge, and it was just announced that they are developing an all new way to serve you drinks!

This is still a work in progress, but how cool would it be to get your drink served to you inside a Camtono!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge AR Filters

If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re a part of the Star Wars universe, then all you need is your smartphone! These Galaxy’s Edge AR filters were just announced, and they can turn you into several different creatures from a galaxy far, far away!

The filters are available on My Disney Experience and Snapchat until July 7th!

Disney To Debut Star Wars NFTs

Digital collectibles are a hot commodity right now, and Disney announced some new NFTs for Star Wars fans to grab. The Dark Side Collection will debut with the Darth Vader NFT — you’ll be able to grab these premium digital collectibles on May 29th at 8AM PST in a blind box format.

The collection will include three Darth Vader digital works of art. But that’s not all: the Lightsaber NFTs were released on May 28th in a blind box format.
