Character meet-and-greets have returned to “normal” in many spots around Disney World, but not all of them are back just yet.

There are some meet-and-greet locations and character dining restaurants that aren’t back yet, but as the days go by more and more things are changing in Disney World. Soon a character meet-and-greet spot will be back open in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and we’ve got the details right here!
According to the Disney World website for Genie+, which lists what rides are available through the new paid FastPass+ replacement service, “Meet Favorite Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost” will be available through Genie+ on June 19th, 2022! We expect this is the date this meet-and-greet location will also be reopening, as it has yet to reopen at Animal Kingdom thus far.

The Adventurers Outpost page on the Disney website still lists this meet-and-greet spot as “temporarily unavailable” and doesn’t show hours for June 19th yet, but we’ll be on the lookout for updates there.

If you’re not familiar with it, Adventurers Outpost is a character meet-and-greet spot in Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Typically, guests can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse here.
We’ve been checking on this spot often to see if there’s any movement in terms of signage or other things.

Disney had previously announced that Adventurers Outpost would reopen “soon.” That was back in April of 2022, but we really hadn’t heard anything about it since then. So this news is an exciting update!

Yay! The Adventurers Outpost was one of the absolute best characters meet and greet experiences that we had during our 2019 trip! They were so gentle, kind, and patient with my daughter who has some sensitivities and was nervous to meet characters! Love them and so glad that this Mickey and Minnie characters experience is back soon for families to enjoy!
