Dining at Disney World is DIFFERENT these days.
Some restaurants are still closed, some restaurants have seen BIG menu overhauls, and some restaurants are reopening, but with some significant price increases. Even at the restaurants that are open, there have been some changes. Some former character dining spots aren’t featuring characters right now, and some former buffet locations are serving family-style or prix fixe meals. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one restaurant that has been a little bit different lately will be seeing a BIG change soon!
Hollywood & Vine is a character dining spot that has been open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for quite some time post the COVID-19 closures and reopenings. Both Disney Junior character breakfast and Minnie’s Seasonal Dine have returned to the restaurant. But one BIG change that has taken place here has to do with the meal service itself.
Hollywood & Vine was previously a buffet-style meal. When it reopened, it switched to a prix fixe menu offering — no more buffet! But things are going to change very soon!
Disney has announced that Hollywood & Vine will be bringing back its buffet on August 28th!
At breakfast, the buffet offerings will include Brioche French Toast with Banana Foster Sauce, Salmon and Bagel Casserole, and Plant-based Frittata with tomato jam.
At lunch and dinner things will switch over and guests will find different items on the buffet line, including a Plant-based Roasted Mushroom Farro Risotto, Slow-roasted Crispy Pork Belly with Guava glaze, and Shrimp and Bacon Mac & Cheese.
And, of course, you can’t forget about dessert! Some of the dessert options that will be available will include Mississippi Mud Pie and PB&J Tarts.
We’ll be very interested to see how this change affects things at Hollywood & Vine. We were seriously impressed by some of the food offerings that have been available here since the menu switched to prix fixe. Will anything on the buffet line impress us as much as the offerings we’ve had on the prix fixe menu? Only time will tell.
Keep in mind that Hollywood & Vine offers 2 different character dining experiences. At breakfast there is the Disney Junior Pay n’ Dine with Disney Junior Friends.
During lunch and dinner you’ll find Minnie’s Seasonal Dining, which is themed to various seasons throughout the year. The seasonal offerings are as follows:
- Silver Screen Dine (was available from January 4th-February 28th, 2022)
- Springtime Dine (was available from March 1st-May 30th, 2022)
- Summertime Dine (available starting May 31st)
- Halloween Dine (start date TBA)
- Minnie’s Holiday Dine (start date TBA)
We’ll keep an eye out for more details and we’ll be sure to let you know what we find.
If you’re looking for other buffet offerings in Disney World, you can check out the reopened buffet at Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, or the buffet at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom.

Before the shutdown, the buffet menu at Hollywood and Vine looked unappetizing and not worth the money so we never ate there. However, when they reopened last year we loved the menu! Food offerings were delicious with that yummy steak meal, turkey dinner, and salmon plate, and they brought you seconds of items if you asked. We really enjoyed dinner and characters for the Halloween, Holiday, and Spring events! With this new uninteresting menu that’s now buffet (eww), we won’t be going back after August 28th, sadly.
