If you haven’t been to EPCOT in a while, you’ll probably feel lost the next time you visit. That’s because a LOT has changed in this park, and even more changes are on the way!
EPCOT’s massive transformation has so far included a new quick-service restaurant, a space-themed table-service restaurant, a Ratatouille-themed attraction, a Marvel roller coaster, and so much more. It might feel like everything that could change in this park has already done so, but the transformation isn’t quite over yet. Disney just announced an opening timeline for the upcoming Moana-themed attraction!
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana will open in EPCOT in late 2023! This upcoming attraction is a walk-through experience where guests can interact with different elements that all have to do with water. We’re expecting to see playful fountains, lots of waterfalls, and more.
Disney has called the attraction a “lush exploration trail” that allows explorers to “play with magical, living water.” You’ll be able to find it in the World Nature section of EPCOT.
The attraction will also feature a GIANT Te Fiti figure — click here to learn more about that.
We’ve already noticed the project coming along, with a lot of busy Cast Members at the construction site each day. And it looks like one rock formation is already taking shape!
We can’t wait to check out this new experience when it debuts! Keep following DFB for more updates on Disney World’s latest projects.

“late 2023”? Is that a typo or is it really going to take another year?

Not impressed…. This is a low point for Disney imagineers when compared to the Communicore Complex and fountains it replaced. All of that open space that was the Epcot walkway to the World was a brief few moments of transition time from Future World into World Showcase. Too bad Disney imagineers ruined it with this hooky Moana walking garden. Don’t like it at all…
