Okay Disney, come on…we’re all waiting!
Since the parks reopened in 2020, we’ve seen the slow return of our favorite restaurants, resorts, and entertainment options all around the resort. But even now, there are still a few things we’re waiting on…including the return of the beloved nighttime show Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney announced at the end of last year that Fantasmic! would reopen at Hollywood Studios in 2022, but we don’t yet have a specific date for when that will happen. A few weeks ago, it was revealed that cast rehearsals had begun for the show, so we’re getting more excited by the day. And now we’ve got a peek inside the theater!
Twitter user @bioreconstruct shared an aerial view of the amphitheater where the show takes place. Many months ago, this area was drained and under construction. Now, the water is back and the stage setup looks ready to go! We can’t wait to watch the performers take the stage again soon.

When the show reopens, it’s getting a bit of a facelift. An entire segment of the show is being replaced and updated with new animation, characters, and more. We’re interested to check out the changes.
Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on the reopenings and returning offerings in Disney World. We’ve recently seen some changes as character meals return to normal and restaurants reopen. Besides those things, we’ve also got new additions coming soon, including restaurants, rides, and an entire park transformation at EPCOT. We’ll be sharing the news on all of it!

Wow, looks great. I can’t wait but oh darn, my annual pass has run out and I have not way to get in to the park. A fun and imaginative show, but not that memorable if there is no one in the seats.
