PHOTOS: The FIRST Holiday Decorations Have Arrived in Disney's Animal Kingdom!

Forget your Halloween candy, it’s the HOLIDAYS!

We’ve already seen holiday ears, holiday kitchen items, and other holiday merchandise. And at Disneyland, the Castle is already dusted with snow to signal the arrival of the festive season. But now another park is joining in and pulling out that holiday decor. It’s CHRISTMAS in Animal Kingdom, y’all!

Deck those halls with boughs of holly — Animal Kingdom is getting READY for jolly old St. Nicholas! When we stopped by on October 25th, 2022 (yes, several days BEFORE Halloween), we noticed that some holiday decorations have been put up in Discovery Island.

The Holidays Are Here!

Right over Discovery Trading Company, you’ll once again see those gorgeous animal-themed holiday lanterns that we’ve seen in years past.

The lanterns are beautifully decorated and have some incredible details.

We spotted some lanterns just outside of Island Mercantile as well.

So Many!

Outside of some of the stores, we also spotted some gorgeous bird sculptures (which, again, we’ve seen in the past).

Like the lanterns, these have varying colors placed within the patterns. The detailing, particularly with what looks like wire work near the legs, is absolutely gorgeous. Be sure to take a minute to really admire these.

This is the only spot (so far) that appears to be decked out for the holidays, but we expect more holiday decorations will be making their way to the parks soon. In years past, holiday decorations have popped up right around this time (just ahead of Halloween) in places like Hollywood Studios too. You can bet we’re looking closely for any updates there!

Holiday decorations don’t typically pop up in Magic Kingdom, however, until November 1st, allowing Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to have its time to shine in the moonlight before the Mariah Carey holiday music echoes throughout the land. Again, we’ll be on the lookout for updates with that as well.

Not Much Else in Terms of Holiday Decor…YET!

On November 11th, the holiday season “officially” begins in Disney World. We expect there will be more announcements in the coming days regarding what holiday snacks will be available and more.
