Another year has gone, and now Disney World is gearing up for its first festival of 2023.
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is just around the corner! This festival celebrates art across three varieties: culinary, performance, and visual arts.
We are getting our first preview of the visual art aspect of the 2023 Festival of the Arts thanks to artists Eric Tan and Dave Perillo! Tan has worked with Disney in the past on projects including limited edition posters and murals at Disney Springs, while Perillo is the artist behind Disney merch like this retro take on the famous Partners Statue and this fun Mickey hat. Both artists revealed on their individual Instagrams the latest designs they created for the upcoming festival. Sticking to his signature style, Tan created this vintage-inspired poster for EPCOT. The design looks like something you’d have seen advertising the park back in the 1960s, but includes nods to modern EPCOT (like the Xandarian Star Blaster space ship from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!).
Dave Perillo also revealed a new poster with a different take on the retro style. Sticking to a color palette of greens and purples, this poster advertises Magic Kingdom staple Space Mountain! Titled “A Race Through the Cosmos,” this design is one of four that Perillo has created for the festival. Each piece will feature a different Disney attraction, and we’re excited to see what other designs he has in store!
If you’re interested in purchasing prints of these pieces or the other designs each artist is creating, both Tan and Perillo will be appearing at the festival this year. Eric Tan can be found at the Odyssey Events Pavilion while Dave Perillo is meeting at the Wonderground Gallery in the Odyssey. Eric Tan’s schedule for appearances is:
- Saturday, January 21st – 5pm-7pm
- Sunday, January 22nd – 11am-1pm
- Monday, January 23rd – 2pm-4pm
- Tuesday, January 24th – 11am-1pm
