There’s a lot of limited-edition merchandise and snacks in Disneyland right now!
With the Walt Disney Company 100th Anniversary celebrations underway, we’ve seen a lot of new items themed after the anniversary. It is a momentous occasion and only happens once! But another thing you might notice about some of the limited-edition items: the prices might be higher than most regular merchandise and treats in the park.
Merchandise items can quickly become collector’s items. Snacks, however, aren’t quite as long-lasting. We recently tried a new Disneyland treat to see if it is really worth its cost. Over at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort, we found the latest Disney100 snack: a 100th Anniversary Cookies and Cream Rice Krispie Treat. It’s exactly what it sounds like — a Rice Krispie bar with a cookies and cream flavor that’s topped with frosting, sprinkles, and a fun 100th Anniversary design. Mickey and the rest of his crew are featured on top, all dressed up in their platinum outfits!
This treat is marked as a “cookies and cream” flavor, but we honestly didn’t taste very much of that besides a few chocolate cookie pieces throughout, which you can see on the other side of the bar.
Mostly this tasted like a regular Rice Krispie Treat with a bit more sugar thanks to the icing and sprinkles on top. It’s a little bigger than a normal one, but nothing to write home about.
We don’t really have any complaints about the taste of this treat — it’s the price that gets us! The 100th Anniversary Cookies and Cream Rice Krispie Treat is $9. To put that into some perspective, the Mickey-shaped Rice Krispie Treats in Magic Kingdom are usually under $6 and even look to be a little bigger than this snack (plus, who doesn’t want a Mickey-shaped snack?).
For the price, the 100th Anniversary treat was very underwhelming. We think there are better snack options in Disneyland that’ll get you more bang for your buck. The 100th Anniversary celebrations have just begun — stay tuned to our site for more updates!
