Starbucks is EVERYWHERE, even at Disney World!
You might want to continue your usual Starbucks routine even while on vacation. While this is an option, there are a few reasons why you may want to skip that iced latte!
When you’re budgeting for a Disney trip, every single dollar counts. Small purchases can add up, and that includes your coffee! You can opt out of drinking your daily Starbucks and instead put that money towards something else, like a souvenir or your favorite Disney snack. Remember, every time you go to a Starbucks in Disney World, you’re paying full price! You aren’t able to save money by using your Starbucks rewards because they can’t be applied to any in-park purchases. You can earn stars on purchases made at Disney, but any rewards you have in your account have to stay there.
One way to get your morning coffee fix without paying for Starbucks is by bringing your own! Many Disney resorts (and other non-Disney hotels) have in-room coffee machines you can use. The type varies by resort, and you can call ahead to find out what sort of amenities your resort has. If you’re already headed somewhere for breakfast you can always enjoy your coffee then. Disney allows guests to bring in their own food and drink as long as they aren’t in glass containers and don’t need to be cooked or reheated. You could prep your coffee and enjoy it on a stroll through one of the parks in the morning!
Starbucks also isn’t the only place where you can find coffee in Disney World. These parks are home to Joffrey’s, a Tampa-based coffee chain. Joffrey’s stalls are dotted across Disney World and they often serve up specialty drinks in tune with the festivals and celebrations happening in the parks! Starbucks is an international chain that you can find on most street corners, while Joffrey’s doesn’t have any physical locations outside of central Florida. You can purchase Joffrey’s coffee online, but it isn’t the same as having it freshly brewed. Wouldn’t you rather get something special instead of the same old same?
If you really don’t want to give up your Starbies it’s understandable. But another thing to keep in mind is that they can get crowded! There is often limited seating (if any), and we often see long lines. There are only six Starbucks across Disney World, meaning all of the guests each day are queuing up for their daily dose within them.
We do have some tips for combating these problems! Instead of waiting in line or even waiting until you arrive to get your order in, use Mobile Order ahead of time (only available at the Disney Springs locations). You can time it so your drink is ready close to the time when you’re arriving at the Starbucks location (although preparation time may vary). Either way, you’ll be able to use your time enjoying your vacation instead of waiting in a line! There are a few locations that have no seating at all, like Main Street Bakery. When this happens, you can often find a seating area nearby, typically at a counter service spot. With Main Street Bakery, you can head around the corner and sit on the outdoor patio area next to Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of walking and you’ll come across the perfect relaxing spot. You might just find yourself catching a parade!
We hope this post gave you some food for thought! (Or is it coffee for thought?) Whether you choose to go to Starbucks at Disney or go for another option, these tips should help you have a better experience.

what type of coffee machines are in rooms – k cup or ground coffee? And can Starbucks gift cards in your app be used at locations?
We drink coffee before hitting the parks! We get coffee at the resort in our refillable mugs!
Joffreys coffee all the time. Starbucks is horrible.
If you can use your starbucks app and or gift cards and get some stars I say hit the star bucks. Even if you can’t use the stars in the parks you can use them when you get home.
There’s a Joffrey’s at DCA near pixar pier, they’re not just in Floriday
Not a Starbucks fan. Always pack my own coffee in a baggie. I’m a Wawa fan. Bring in Wawa and I’ll buy coffee in the parks.
The two Starbucks at Disney Springs are corporate stores, so they will honor your rewards.
Not to mention how hard this corporation has fought to prevent its employees from bargaining for a decent wage.
I don’t like Starbucks coffee it always taste burnt. It gives me a headache & makes me nauseous. I was very disappointed the first time I saw Starbucks on Main St. To me it meant no more apple turnovers & coffee became Starbucks has no desirable baked goods, it’s all prepackaged from heaven knows where.
I was thrilled when I found Joffery.
Thanks for that.
We too say Joffrey’s is better than Starbucks coffee, and look forward to our morning coffee in the parks.
I will say that 1 afternoon at AK I stopped in at Starbucks and asked for a cup of water, was told I had to purchase a bottle of water. I will never go into a Starbucks again.
My Starbucks chai latte is my morning joy. Would you tell people not to buy Joffreys too? Vacation is a time to eat and drink what one likes.
Every time when we see the Starbucks line first thing in the morning inside the parks, we always wonder “WHY!??!” Why would you make that the very first line you stand in? 🤔 Especially when you rope drop?! That’s crazy! We always get our coffee fix before we hit the parks. If we really didn’t have the time, then we’ll go to whichever Joffrey’s has the shortest line.
Now we need an article entitled “Why You Should Stop Buying $20 Alcoholic Drinks in Disney World”.
In my opinion no one should should drink Starbucks, when the Iraq/Afghanistan wars were happening the ceo publicly came out and said he does not support the TROOPS and would not send free coffee overseas like every other big company was. As a combat veteran of both wars I took major offense to this. It’s ok understandable not to support the war but they should support American troops. I hope everyone supports the troops by boycotting Starbucks
Starbucks is the most anti American company in our country. Please stop supporting them… sorry to get political….. thank you dfb for what you do !!!
Also, I have found that if you have a special offer going with starbucks, like purchase 3 times for extra bonus stars, your starbucks purchase at disney stores will not be counted toward that offer.
You can Instacart Starbucks K-cups and cream so you can have your Starbucks in your room. We did this while staying at the Contemporary and sat on our balcony, looking over at Cinderella’s castle enjoying a morning Starbucks. Total morning joy!
You can use star rewards in the Disney Springs locations (I’ve done this before) and you can use Starbucks gift cards at any of the 6 locations in WDW. I have an app with my car insurance that offers Starbucks rewards so Starbucks is basically free for me. Since they take gift cards, I definitely recommend either buying discount gift cards (like w/ Target RedCard) or finding an app that offers Starbucks rewards if you definitely need your fix. 😉
As far as I know, only the Disney Springs locations take Mobile Order. The in-park locations never have in my experience. If this has changed – WOOO HOOOO b/c I use Mobile Order for everything else in WDW.
Thank you, as always for the food/drink related WDW content!
We always bring coffee from the resort into the parks – too crazy to use up valuable park entry time
for something a quick caffeine fix you can either make in room, or use refill mug at food court before getting on transportation. Almost all the room coffee makers use Joffrey coffee in a basic coffee maker, and some deluxe rooms have Keurig makers with Joffrey in k-cups.
I LOVE Joffreys Coffee!
There is no mobile ordering at Starbucks in WDW

Roger that. While deployed, I always drank Green Beans Coffee. There was always one at Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait, there was one at COB Speicher Iraq, and one on the boardwalk at Kandahar Airfield A’Stan. There is also one on Fort Campbell at the gas station nearest the airfield. Love Green Beans Coffee.
We never buy Starbucks coffee at all for the reason you put above, and that they are anti-2nd Amendment. When we stay at Disney (rare these days as we live 25 minutes away) we stay at Shades of Green, and bring our single serving Keurig and an assortment of K-Cups with us.
Every time I visit Disney World I try to give Joffreys a chance but my husband and I hate it!
Starbucks for life!
Joffreys for coffee and espresso. Starbucks for flat whites or cold brews
Joffrey’s Coffee is the most flavorful
(doesn’t need all those crazy Starbucks syrup combinations to taste great), least acidic (for those who suffer heartburn and acid reflux) and has the friendliest employees. Our family was turned in to Joffrey’s at WDW many years ago and buy our coffee for home online from them. The flavor is in the coffee itself! Love it!
Wow you bash Starbucks while promoting Joffrey’s. Sounds a little biased to me. Sounds like maybe someone is being paid to promote one brand over the other.
I think both are over priced. I get my coffee at the resort hotel before boarding the bus to the parks.
I understand why people would choose to use either Starbucks or Joffrey’s as they serve specialty drinks Lottes and such, you don’t get those at the hotels. So to each their own.
I am from the Seattle area, I don’t ever purchase anything at Starbucks. Because of Howard Shutz. Alot of people in Seattle will never use Starbucks after what he did with the NBA Seattle Super Sonics.
But that’s a whole nother story.
Hi Franklin! I assure you that we are not being paid to promote one coffee company over another. Our reporters are in the parks daily fueling up on coffee to make it through long days and a lot of walking and these are our honest thoughts, opinions and feelings.
