There are over 15 outdoor kitchens at the 2023 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, but the one we’re visiting right now is unique!
What makes the EPCOT Farmers Feast food booth different? This booth doesn’t just have one food menu — it has THREE! Throughout the festival, the menu will change to feature in-season ingredients in its dishes. So come with us now to check out the first of the three menus, and keep watching for our reviews as the menu changes throughout the summer.
Menu
Over at the EPCOT Farmers Feast, you’ll currently find the Early Bloom Menu, which is available from March 1st through April 8th. This menu includes the Chilled Potato and Leek Soup “Vichyssoise,” the Char-grilled Bison Ribeye, a Spice Cake with cream cheese icing, and a Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail.

From April 9th through May 20th, you can try the Springtime Menu, which includes Grilled Vegetable Bruschetta, Grilled Swordfish, and Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-down Cake.
And from May 21st through the end of the festival (July 5th), the Summer Solstice Menu will offer Tomato and Red Onion Panzanella, Barbecued Seared Pork Tenderloin, and Sweet Corn Crème Brûlée.
Just keep those dates in mind. If you don’t time your trip carefully, you could end up visiting when the Springtime Menu is still being offered even though the food items you want to try are on the Summer Solstice Menu. It’s a booth that comes with a little DANGER since you’ve got to time your visit correctly!
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Chilled Potato and Leek Soup “Vichyssoise” with bacon lardons, potato croutons, chive oil, and crispy leeks. This is a returning dish from last year and costs $5. It’s gluten- and wheat-friendly as well.
Last year, we thought this chilled soup was perfect for a hot day and found it to be surprisingly salty with a strong potato flavor. The leek flavor was more subtle, but we really enjoyed the crispy leeks on top. So how did this year’s version measure up?
Well, this was actually quite impressive! It was tasty and creamy. The oil and bacon made it fatty but it was worth it. The crispy leeks and potato croutons on top added a nice crunch, which we really liked for a change of texture. Overall, our reporter who tried it shared that they’d recommend this to ANYONE coming to the Festival.
Next, we had the Char-grilled Bison Ribeye with creamy leek fondue, red wine butter sauce, and whipped red wine goat cheese. This dish costs $5 and is also returning from last year.
In 2022, we loved that creamy leek fondue! It was very cheesy and had a strong leek flavor. The ribeye was tasty last year as well, cooked medium-well with a great texture. It just fell apart in our mouths and didn’t have too much of a gamey flavor.
This year, the dish impressed us once again. The meat was cooked really well (not overly done, at least for our taste), which we really liked. Now, we’ll fully admit that this might not be the most appealing dish visually. The grease from the meat can slush around the plate and mix with the leeks, making it a little…less than attractive. BUT do not let that worry you because it’s tasty!
The meat was seasoned really well. The red wine whipped goat cheese on top didn’t really add anything in terms of flavor, but it was a fun touch just to see what unique things Disney’s culinary team can do. Overall, it’s a good dish for meat lovers.
Finally, we tried the NEW dish this year, the Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Icing, Candied Pecans, and Parsnip for $4.50. This was pretty good. It wasn’t as spice-forward as a typical spice cake can be. But the cream cheese frosting was fantastic and the nuts on top added a nice, crunchy texture.
Overall, the food here might not make our Best of the Fest list this year, but it was all very solid and pretty impressive.
Drinks
In terms of drinks on this menu, we got the Ghost Mary, which is a Translucent Bloody Mary with Boyd & Blair Cucumber Vodka, Tomato Water, Horseradish, Celery Salt, and a hint of Pepper. It costs $11.50.
This was…fine. In our opinion, it was a little too peppery, but our reporter who tried it fully admitted that they’re not a huge Bloody Mary person, so that could have impacted things. To them, this essentially tasted like a watered-down Bloody Mary with a bit of pepper. Unfortunately, this let us down, but if the idea of a watered-down Bloody Mary sounds perfect to you, you can give it a try.

One drink is particular to the Early Bloom Menu here, and that’s the Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail. This is a returning drink this year and costs $11.50.
We had this drink at the festival back in 2021, and we thought it was the epitome of the Flower & Garden Festival. It was light and refreshing with a strong floral flavor.
Overall
Overall, while the Ghost Mary drink didn’t do it for us, the food here was pretty solid.
Check out the Chilled Potato and Leek Soup, Char-grilled Bison Ribe-Eye, and the Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Icing! Just wait for this drink…
