Come with us to check out what is almost definitely Orange Bird’s favorite food booth at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival!
The 2023 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun, and we’re taking it all in. There are more than 15 food booths with all kinds of snacks and treats, unique character topiaries, a whole lot of themed souvenirs, and even live music. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about this event, which lasts until July 5th. Now, we’re heading to the Citrus Blossom Outdoor Kitchen to let you know if it’s worth a try this year!
Menu
Over at the Citrus Blossom, you’ll find several citrus-themed dishes, and ALL the eats are new this year! There’s Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp, Citrus Baked Brie, and Lemon Meringue Pie.
To drink, there’s an Orange-Lemon Smoothie, which is served in an Orange Bird Sipper Cup. We’ve seen Orange Bird sippers at this festival before, but the design this year is new. You can also get UFO Beer Co. Citrus Hazy Wheat Beer, 81Bay Brewing Co. Citrus Honey Cream Ale, Parish Brewing Co. Drive Thru: Orange Octane Imperial Sour, Bella Strada Spritz, and an Orange Sunshine Wine Slushy.
If you don’t want to get the drinks individually, you can purchase the beer flight instead to sample a few. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp with Orange Chile Sauce, which you can get for $7. BEST OF THE FEST! Hands down, this was SO good. Lightly fried so the dish isn’t too greasy or heavy, and the sweet sesame chile orange sauce is citrusy, sweet, and really amplifies an already great flavor with the fried shrimp. It’s got a little bit of heat to it, but nothing unreasonable. We also can’t get over how much you get with this, it can easily be split between a couple people or for one very hungry person!
Next, we tried the Citrus Baked Brie with Preserved Lemon Marmalade, Limoncello-macerated Blueberries, and Spiced Marcona Almonds. This dish costs $5.25 and was a lot more like dessert than we were expecting! The fruit marmalade combined with the limoncello blueberries was sweet and paired really well with the brie.
It’s extremely rich and heavy, though, so fair warning if you’re visiting on a hot day or are looking to eat a lot in one day!
For dessert, we had the Lemon Meringue Pie, which is made with Lemon Curd, Lemon Mousse, and Toasted Meringue. The pie costs $4.75. We didn’t think this was anything special and reminded us of something you can probably get at your local grocery store. It’s not a standout but is a solid lemon dessert if you’re a fan.
What about those fruity drinks?
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Orange-Lemon Smoothie. This drink is nonalcoholic and comes in an Orange Bird sipper cup for $15. Last year, we thought that this smoothie was literally like drinking an orange sherbet, and we loved it! So how does this year’s version measure up?
It’s delicious and that’s really all there is to it. It tastes like a creamsicle, which is always acceptable in our book. It would be great for kiddos and might even be a Best of the Fest for them or anyone who would rather drink their Orange Dream Dole Whip!
We also tried out the beer flight, which includes samples of UFO Beer Co. Citrus Hazy Wheat Beer, 81Bay Brewing Co. Citrus Honey Cream Ale, and Parish Brewing Co. Drive Thru: Orange Octane Imperial Sour. The flight costs $10.
Previously, we tried the Citrus Honey Cream Ale and didn’t love it. It was far too bitter and didn’t have enough sweetness to cut through that bitterness. So was it any better this year? We really enjoyed this flight! Our favorite of the three was the Citrus Hazy Wheat Beer, but they were all excellent and had great citrus flavors without being overpowering. If you like Blue Moon, you’d probably like this flight!
The Orange Sunshine Wine Slushy for $7 has been part of this booth for several years now, and you can still find it there now! It’s a refreshing drink that’s great for a warm day at the festival.
There’s also the new Bella Strada Spritz, which you can get for $11.
Overall
So should you visit the Citrus Blossom to try out all the new eats and citrusy drinks? We think so! The shrimp and orange lemon smoothie are both contenders for Best of the Fest, and we also enjoyed this beer flight! While this booth wasn’t a standout overall, we did enjoy what we tried here and would give it a try if you’re looking for some fresh, fruity flavors.

I’ve been a loyal DFB follower for years and I’m hoping you can help me out with a quest related to this article. We got the orange-lemon smoothie at Epcot last week and shared it among 3 people. It was so good, and we finally made it back there during extended magic hours, but unfortunately they were closed! We’re looking for a copycat recipe. Can you help?

Hi Amber! You could try this one, but maybe swap lemon for lime and omit the mint?
