The Honey Bee-stro Hosted by National Honey Board is a Flower and Garden Festival staple. You can’t have a healthy garden without some helpful bees!
This food kitchen focuses on that golden sweet stuff that Winnie the Pooh can’t get enough of. From savory mains to desserts to cocktails, every item at The Honey Bee-stro incorporates honey in some way. Part of the 2023 Flower and Garden Festival, which runs from March 1st until July 5th, 2023, The Honey Bee-stro and other food booths focus on farm-to-table ingredients through international cuisine.
You may be curious how they managed to create savory dishes with such a sweet ingredient, and we were too! Find out what we thought about the offerings at this booth.

Food
This year the Honey Bee-stro has two new dishes! First up is their take on Chicken and Waffles. This dish promised crispy honey-brined chicken on a honey sweet cornbread waffle with whipped honey butter and spicy honey. You can try this out for $6.75.
This dish was the perfect balance between savory, sweet, and spicy! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and we loved the bits of cornbread and jalapeños in the waffle. They described the honey as spicy, but we think the majority of the spiciness came from the waffle so if you want to try this but skip the spice just try out the chicken (which we highly recommend!). If you only get one thing at this booth, you should definitely go for this snack!
Their new Pollinator Flatbread comes with honey-whipped mascarpone, honey caramelized onions, blueberry gastrique, prosciutto, honey-whipped goat cheese, arugula, honey vinaigrette, and bee pollen. This is available for $6.25.
The flatbread is definitely for more mature palettes. The honey vinaigrette is less acidic and more bittersweet, and we enjoyed how fresh the ingredients tasted. If you’re looking for something a little bit lighter, this is a good choice! It’s almost like enjoying a charcuterie board on a crispy flatbread. Our only complaint is we wish they hadn’t skimped on the prosciutto as much.
Their dessert is a returning item from last year, the Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with honey whipped cream, whipped honey, crystalized honey, honeycomb, dehydrated honey, and fennel pollen meringue kisses. This is on their menu for $5.
This is for people with a massive sweet tooth! You can truly taste the honey throughout this dessert, especially in the crystallized honey on top. The whipped cream and honey had a soft texture but be warned — they melt quickly! We surprisingly enjoyed the meringue kisses. They were almost airy and melted in your mouth.
Drinks
Their stand-out drink is the Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze cocktail, which comes with blueberry vodka and streusel. This drink is $12.50. We liked the crunchy pieces of streusel in this drink!
For those who don’t like a strong alcohol taste, you’ll appreciate this drink. You can barely taste the vodka itself but the blueberry flavor is there. In fact, we actually noticed the blueberry more than the peach! This beverage is fluffy, foamy, and creamy. As fruity as this is, the consistency is a little thick and some might find this to be too heavy on a hot park day.
The non-alcoholic option on their beverage menu is the Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze with streusel for $4.75. This had almost a milkshake consistency; it was much thinner than the alcoholic version. You can see how the streusel sinks into the cup!
We didn’t taste much peach flavor in this drink. This is more of a light milkshake with just a hint of peach.
If you prefer cider and beer, you may want to try out the B. Nektar New Wave Lemonade Mead for $5.50 for a 6oz and $9.50 for a 12oz.
They also have a Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine which is $6.50 per glass.
If you really like it you can purchase a bottle for $28!
Overall
The Honey Bee-stro surprisingly managed to create variety with just one ingredient. Each dish did have sweetness to it but they managed to balance out the savory dishes with enough spice and seasonings that they didn’t taste overwhelmingly sugary. While several of the items didn’t fully capture their promised flavors, we think the Chicken and Waffles is a MUST, so try to stop by to try this dish out for yourself!

I was in Epcot this week, tried the chicken and waffles and the flat bread. I’ve never had anything so bad. All of it was terrible and we threw it in the trash. 😞
