The UNUSUAL Crowds at the Return of EPCOT Forever Fireworks

The EPCOT Forever fireworks show has returned to this park hot on the heels of the 18-month long run of Harmonious, which celebrated Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. The 50th anniversary is over now, so EPCOT Forever is back (for a limited time). Come with us to check out the crowds on the first night of this show’s return!

In case you’re not familiar with this show, EPCOT Forever was first introduced to us in 2019. It took over for EPCOT’s long-running nighttime show, Illuminations. EPCOT Forever has a very nostalgic feel with nods to yesteryear’s EPCOT, including songs or sound clips from Living With the Land, Kitchen Cabaret, and Horizons.

Harmonious had its last show on April 2nd, and the official return of EPCOT Forever is tonight, April 3rd. We were in the park to celebrate, and at first, it felt like we were one of the few who came. Where’d everybody go?

Walkways

About an hour before the show began, there was plenty of space around us in the viewing area. But about fifteen minutes before the start of the show, that changed drastically.

It’s busy!

We watched the show from the entrance of World Showcase, right in front of the lagoon. This area provides a great view of the show, but you’ll want to be pretty early to secure your spot. It can fill up surprisingly quickly! If you’re about a half hour early, you should be able to find a spot most days.

Lots of people here to watch the show

Although there were a LOT of people in this area, Cast Members made sure that walkways remained clear so that you can still get in and out.

For now, the Harmonious barges are still in the lagoon, but these will be removed soon.

EPCOT Forever will only be back for a limited time. Later this year, it will be replaced by a NEW show that will celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary.
