When you were little, did you ever go to the fair? And your folks would just hand over a $20 bill and tell you to have at it?
Today, that’s what we were given to work with at Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Honestly, Magic Kingdom does fit the vibe of a county fair if you really think about it. You’ve got the endless snacks, spinning rides, and even Main Street, US.A., which feels just like a small town (which is totally on purpose, because it was modeled after Walt Disney’s hometown of Marceline, Missouri!). Anyway, we were given $20 to come up with a DREAM lineup of food in Magic Kingdom.
The following list is the BEST way to spend $20 on food in Magic Kingdom. It gets you breakfast, lunch, and a pretty hearty snack. Technically, we did spend $23.07, but it’s okay because Grandpa also gave us a handful of change. LET’S GO!
Breakfast — Gaston’s Tavern
It feels like a crime to have breakfast in Magic Kingdom anywhere except Gaston’s Tavern. Ain’t nothin’ that sounds better than a Warm Cinnamon Roll for breakfast, in our humble opinion.
It’s huge, it’s fresh, it’s ooey and gooey in the center. It’s enough to share but you can also eat it all by yourself without feeling guilty. It’s the best (and only) option, if you ask us. Wanna make it even better? Ask for extra icing on the side. Go on, you know you want to. We won’t judge! (Because we do it, too!)
This bad boy will set you back $6.79, and you likely won’t regret a cent of it. After eating this, you’ll have enough sugary energy to ride a few rides before lunch. Speaking of which…
Lunch — Casey’s Corner
Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog! We’ve got ears it’s time for CORN DOG NUGGETS! Yep. They’re tried and true, they’re nostalgic, and they totally fit the theming for our $20 county fair budget.
We rave about these nuggs here for a reason. They’re warm and crispy, they’re safe for picky eaters, and you can ask for them with a side of our favorite thing ever. PLASTIC CHEESE.
Dip your corn dog nuggets and fries into the plastic cheese and your life will be changed. Trust us. These guys will set you back another $10.49, which leaves our current grand total at $17.28.
Snack — Cheshire Cafe
While there are several snacks that could be winners here, we’re thinking in terms of how much food we’re given. A pretty hefty (and delicious!) snack for a relatively low price is the Cheshire Cat Tail!
This bad boy is a twisted pastry (it looks a lot like a cat’s tail, yes) filled with chocolate chips and topped with delicious squiggles of icing. It’s scrumptious, and we appreciate it even more because it disappeared from us for a while in 2022. You truly don’t know what you have until it’s gone.
This guy is $5.79, which leaves our official total at $23.07. Our bellies are full, our hearts are happy, and we stayed within our budget — if you count the spare change from Grandpa.
BONUS CONTENT: Sleepy Hollow
So, we would have chosen this snack if it was a bit more within budget for a snack, but this one actually might be worth going over budget for. It’s the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow!
This snack is a BIG, fluffy waffle with strawberries, banana, blueberries, and the best part… chocolate-hazelnut spread. (In other words, Nutella.)
It’s $8.49, but it’s WORTH EVERY PENNY. It’s filling, but it’s also refreshing because of the fruit. Seriously, you could make a whole meal out of it. Next time, we’re asking Mom and Dad for $30.
There you have it! The best bang for your buck at Magic Kingdom. We’ll continue to provide you with all our food recommendations, especially ones that’ll save you some monayyy. Make sure to follow along for more!
