Sometimes, unexpected ride closures can throw a wrench into your Disney World plans.
It’s fairly often when we see rides close due to weather. Sometimes rides just have technical issues. Other times, rides get closed for refurbishment, and although we usually have plenty of advance notice when a ride is getting a refurbishment, sometimes we just learn about the week before — which is exactly what is happening now.
One Magic Kingdom attraction is closing next week. That attraction is the Liberty Square Riverboat, which is showing as closed on August 21st through August 29th. So if you were planning on heading to the dock near Haunted Mansion to catch a ride next week, you won’t be able to.
Just in case you forget, we’re sure you’ll see signs near its docking area reminding you about the closure. But if riding the riverboat is a priority for you, you’ll need to make other plans.
Magic Kingdom is FULL of other attractions, though, and if you want a fun boat ride, there’s always “it’s a small world” (okay, we say it’s fun, but we know some other folks might disagree) and Pirates of the Caribbean (just a note that it’s been down a lot recently, though).
Of course, there’s always the Jungle Cruise, too, which comes with a lot of punny humor (if you love Dad jokes, you MUST ride this attraction). Whatever you decide, though, we’re sure you’ll still have a fun day in Magic Kingdom. And, hey, if you REALLY love those jokes, be sure to stop in at Skipper Canteen for more.
We’ll keep an eye out to see if any other rides close in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
