Calling all Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members! There are a few BIG changes coming up at the Disney parks that you should know about.
We’ve gathered a list of changes that will impact DVC hotels in Disney World (along with one at Disneyland), so make sure you take note of the updates before you start planning your 2024 vacation.
In case you’re not familiar with the DVC, it’s essentially Disney’s version of a timeshare program. However, DVC Members are not “locked in” to a particular Disney destination, resort, style of accommodation, season of travel, or length of stay. Rather, Members utilize a Vacation Points system, offering more flexibility.
DVC Members receive a yearly allotment of Vacation Points based off of “the size of the real estate interest” of their “Home” DVC Resort. Members may then use their Vacation Points to book their vacations.
Members are permitted to “bank” Vacation Points, which means you can bank any unused points from the current year towards next year’s vacation, or “borrow” from the coming year to put towards this year’s vacation.
While DVC Members may use their Points at a large number of Disney Resorts and destinations, they do have one “Home” resort. DVC Members also get some special perks, such as discounts on special events and merchandise and access to special events like Disney Vacation Club Fireworks Cruises and Moonlight Magic.
Now, let’s check out the changes that will affect DVC Members in 2024.
NEW DVC Building at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you might have noticed some major construction going on.
Disney is currently constructing some new Disney Vacation Club villas at the resort, which are set to open sometime in late 2024!
The new rooms are “inspired by the early concepts for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort,” according to Disney.
This will give DVC members some new options for staying at the resort. The new rooms will feature waterfront views with most also offering balconies. In addition to more rooms, there will also be new recreation offerings and dining options. Right now, the Polynesian Village Resort has 380 Disney Vacation Club villas, including the Bora Bora Bungalows.

Lots of Updates at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is another DVC Resort that’s getting lots of updates right now.
Disney is in the process of updating the hotel rooms with new furniture and decor. These new rooms feature artwork that contains images of Mickey, Minnie, and other Disney pals strolling through the BoardWalk.
On top of that, the lobby of the hotel getting a refresh. We already saw some construction at the check-in desk, and the former Dundy’s Sundries shut down to make way for the new Carousel Coffee.
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be coming to Disney’s BoardWalk in early 2024 (a delay from its initially announced opening of 2023) and will serve more than just cakes. The table service restaurant is expected to also have savory items, and in the afternoons guests can enjoy a spot of tea.
Plus, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is opening a location on the Boardwalk, which is expected to open sometime this year.
The Boardwalk is going to look totally different next year with all of these changes!

Room Refurbishments at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
One of Disney World’s fanciest hotels is getting some major changes as well. Room updates are coming to the Grand Floridian Resort.
Disney announced that some of the rooms will be updated with new furniture and color schemes. We’ve already seen many of these updated rooms open up to guests. Lots of the DVC rooms have been updated with a Mary Poppins Returns theme.
The lobby of the hotel has been getting a refurbishment as well. And we can’t forget about the restaurants! Both Citricos and Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridan got refurbishments with new decor in the past couple of years.
Both of these restaurants have reopened following their temporary closures for the updates.

Updates at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is also updating guest rooms. The rooms’ look and feel might be changing, but you won’t feel out of place.
The bathrooms inside the rooms have seen a little bit of an update.
The shower curtains have been replaced with a glass door.
You’ll find new carpet in the hallways, too. Look closely — do you see those Donald Duck footprints?
These rooms are just about finished and have already opened to guests, so if you’re staying at the Beach Club in 2024, you might be in one of the refreshed rooms!

NEW DVC Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Here’s a massive update for you. Disney Vacation Club has announced its plan to redesign the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The proposal calls for more than 350 refreshed cabins to replace the existing cabins at the resort.
Although the new cabins will be part of the Disney Vacation Club resort lineup, the proposed cabins will be open for reservations to all guests, including those who are not Disney Vacation Club Members.
So far, the concept art shows modern cabins “inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling,” according to Disney. The cabins will sleep up to six adults and feature a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. A select number of cabins will be dog-friendly.
There will also be an updated pool and walking trail enhancements. And a new dining experience has already debuted at Trail’s End Restaurant, with Crockett’s Tavern being refurbished, as well.
Currently, Disney expects the new Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort to open in 2024.

The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Disneyland Hotel has added some Disney Vacation Club Villas to the property. The Disneyland Hotel has been around since 1955 so it’s great to see it expanding for more guests.
The new rooms are located inside a tower called The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. The tower is 12 stories high with 350 time-shared villas, and amenities include a new pool, an interactive play area, a community hall, an outdoor bar, and lots more.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel officially opened on September 28th, 2023.
